Yusof obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands in 2015. Before appointed as Senior Lecturer at Faculty of Economics and Management, UPM, Yusof started his career as tutor in 2003. Input-output, social accounting matrix (SAM) and applied general equilibrium models are his areas of expertise. His expertise in these areas has contributed to the appointment as Head of Quantitative Methods for Policy Analysis at the Institute of Agricultural and Food Policy Studies, UPM. Yusof also has been appointed as a Visiting Research Fellow for Khazanah Research Institute. In 2017, Yusof received the most prestigious national award “Anugerah Akademik Negara 2017” for Article Journal Publication Award in Arts and Social Sciences. HIGHLIGHTS Publications. From 2006-2017 Yusof has published 4 books related to these areas which include Analisis dan Aplikasi Input-Output (2006), Input-Output Analysis: Foundations and Applications for Policy Analysis in Malaysia (2014), Income Distribution across Ethnic Groups in Malaysia: Applying Social Accounting Matrices (2015) and Social Accounting Matrices for Policy Analysis: Database Construction and Modelling (2016). He has published 37 articles in referred journals related to the applications of general equilibrium models which include the World Development, Ecological Economics, Economic Modelling, Asian Economic Journal, Singapore Economic Review, Policy Studies and Journal of Income Dis- tribution. Research Projects From 2015-2017 Yusof leads 6 research projects which consists of 1 public grant from Ministry of Higher Education (Fundamental Research Grant Scheme, RM71,000), 3 private grants from Khazanah Research Institute (RM40,000), Malaysia Nuclear Power Corporation (RM99,840) and SME Corp (RM42,400), and 2 international grants from International Atomic Energy Agency (RM16,871) and United Nations Statistics Division (RM94,000). Recognitions For dedication and involvement in research Yusof has been appointed as a Consultant, Technical Working Group and Steering Committee Member for various agencies which include Selangor State Economic Planning Unit (UPENS), Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), Khazanah Research Institute (KRI), Economic Planning Unit (EPU), Malaysia Palm Oil Board (MPOB), Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), Institute of Labour Market Information & Analysis (ILMIA), Malaysian Institute for Research in Youth Development and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) and Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI). PROFILE Mohd Yusof Saari (Yusof) was born in Perak on August 21, 1979. Yusof obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands in 2015. Before appointed as Senior Lecturer at Faculty of Economics and Management, UPM, Yusof started his career as tutor in 2003. Input-output, social accounting matrix (SAM) and applied general equilibrium models are his areas of expertise. His expertise in these areas has contributed to the appointment as Head of Quantitative Methods for Policy Analysis at the Institute of Agricultural and Food Policy Studies, UPM. Yusof also has been appointed as a Visiting Research Fellow for Khazanah Research Institute.
