on the road again

• Mississippi State heads back on the road this weekend as it travels to Georgia and Vanderbilt for a pair of league matches.

• State makes the trek to Athens Friday before making its lone television appearance Sunday against Vandy in Nashville.

• Following the weekend roadtrip, the Bulldogs return home to host Alabama and South Carolina in the team's lone full weekend at home. Next Sunday's game against the Gamecocks is the only home Sunday league contest for Aaron Gordon's squad this season.

battle of the bulldogs

• The SEC's two Bulldogs meet for the 16th time overall, ninth in Athens.

• Georgia leads 12-3-0 and has won the last five meetings.• Two of State's wins have come in Athens, with the most-

recent victory coming at the UGA Soccer Complex in 2007 (1-0).

• The last time MSU visited Athens, the home-standing Bulldogs had to score three goals in the last 20 minutes before netting the winner in the 104th minute.

• State jumped out to a 3-0 lead on goals from Elisabeth Sullivan and Tarah Henderson and a Jasmine Simmons penalty kick.

looking at uga• This year's Georgia squad comes home with a 9-4-1 overall

record and 2-3-1 SEC tally.• UGA halted a three-game losing streak last Friday with a

0-0 draw at Auburn. Georgia had won nine-straight deci-sions prior to the three-match skid.

• Marion Crowder paces the Bulldogs with 19 points on nine goals and an assist. Madeline Baker has four goals, two assists for 10 points.

• Caitlin Woody has played every minute in goal for the Bulldogs, stopping 50 shots against just 10 goals.

state vs. CoMModores

• The Bulldogs trail the overall series with Vanderbilt 2-13-0, but both of MSU's victories in the series have come in Nashville.

• Vandy won last year's meeting 4-2 in Starkville, but the Dawgs claimed the last contest in Nashville, 2-1 on Oct. 23, 2011.

• In that 2011 victory, Jasmine Simmons scored the winner in the 31st minute and also assisted a Sullivan goal 10 minutes in.

• Dana Schwartz scored for Vandy in the 55th minute, but Skylar Rosson made seven saves, five in the second half, to give the Bulldogs the win.

talking vanderbilt

• Vanderbilt sports a 3-8-3 overall record and 0-5-1 SEC mark this season.

• The Commodores have come up short in five of their last six contests. The one exception was a 1-1 tie against Missouri.

• Cheyna Williams paces the Commodores' offense with 10 goals and two assists for 22 points.

• In goal, Olivia Liebman has seen the majority of the min-utes, making 51 saves against 28 goals.
