Scope of work Jane Olver is trained as an Eye Surgeon. She works both as a general ophthalmologist and specialist oculoplastic, eyelid, lacrimal surgery, and cosmetic eyelid surgeon. Jane sees many patients with urgent and general eye, eyelid and tearduct problems.

• Small medical and surgical treatments in an out-patient and day case setting including incision of eyelid chalazia, biopsy of eyelid lesions for cancer, ptosis surgery, blepharoplasty surgery, syringing of the tear ducts, nasal endoscopy, canaliculoplasty, and Jones bypass tubes for canalicular damage.

• Larger surgeries such as endoscopic endonasal DCR requiring general

anaesthesia are done at the London Clinic and the Harley Street Clinic. Specialist endoscopic lacrimal surgeon for watering eyes in adults and children.

• Injections of Filler and Botulinum Toxin A, Intraceuticals and Ulthera non-

surgical facial and peri-orbital rejuvenation are done at Clinica.

Cross Hospital. Jane Olver was appointed in 1994 as consultant ophthalmic surgeon at the Western Eye Hospital and Hillingdon Hospital with a special interest in paediatric ophtghalmology and strabismus, and in oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital surgery. She went to the Eye and Ear Hospital in Boston to learn Endoscopic Lacrimal Surgery in 1995 then set up the Oculoplastic and Lacrimal service at the Western Eye. She was one of the first ophthalmologists to introduce endonasal DCR surgery in the UK and was instrumental in co-writing the NICE recommendations for Training in Endonasal Lacrimal Surgery. She moved from Hillingdon Hospital and became a consultant ophthalmic, oculoplastic and orbital surgeon at the Western Eye Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital London in 1996, where she led the Oculoplastic and Orbital Service and ran the Oculoplastic Fellowship Training Program. Over the last few years she developed an interest in all aspects of periocular, facial and aesthetic surgery, both within the NHS and Privately. Throughout this time she maintained her weekly general ophthalmology clinic.



Sub-Speciality Training Between 1992 and 1994 Jane Olver did two post Specialist Register Training Fellowships at Moorfields Eye Hospital.

• Oculoplastic, Lacrimal and Orbital Diseases (Adnexal) with Mr Richard Collin, Mr Geoffrey Rose and Mr John Wright

• Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus with Mr Peter Fells and Mr John Lee. This second Fellowship included surgical correction of many patients with eyelid malpositions from thyroid eye disease as well as providing an introduction to endoscopic trans-nasal surgery by working closely with the ENT surgeon. This led to her later sub-speciality interest in endolacrimal surgery.
