The band was originally fronted by Johan Liiva, who was replaced by German Angela Gossow as lead vocalist in 2000.

My top 5 albums and influences:

Chuck Schuldiner (Death)Fave album: Leprosy, fave song: Pull The PlugChuck’s razor blade gargle combined with a true pitch in his mid-ranged (tenor) vocals makes for the meanest cut-throat death metal voice there is. Period. Nobody will ever surpass his screams. Just check out ‘Pull The Plug’ or ‘Zombie Ritual’! Listening to him made me realize that pitch is important - even in extreme vocals. R.I.P. Chuck - thank you for your music!David Vincent (Morbid Angel)Fave album: Altars Of Madness, fave song: Maze Of TormentNow, that is a brutal death metal voice. A true bass, delivered with such breathtaking power and force that the gods of thun-der must go pale with envy. He doesnt grunt, he truly growls, with utmost clarity. I love to understand lyrics in Death Metal and I believe in all 5 vowels to be heard, not just a muddy ‘uuuu’.

Rob Halford (Judas Priest)Fave album: Painkiller, fave song: PainkillerThe most sadistic voice in Heavy Metal - Rob Halford. He is the Pain and the Killer! His play on words and double enten-dres in the lyrics is just genius. I love the way he accentuates certain words and phrases and spits them in your face. I love to spit in faces too.

Dan Swanö (Edge Of Sanity)Fave album: Purgatory Afterglow, fave song: Of Darksome OriginSuch a full-bodied baritone with a beautiful singing voice on top of that. Often copied by other singers in more popular bands, but never surpassed. What a warm, round, full voice... And then it goes into this all-consuming growl. He is the voice of pure Swedish Death Metal to me! Pick up “Purgatory After-glow’ or die!

Ronnie James Dio (Black Sabbath)Fave album: Mob Rules, Fave song: The Sign Of The Southern CrossHe is a legend. Period. He brought Black Sabbath back to life in the shape of the ‘Heaven and Hell’ album. He just got better and better with age, never lost his high notes. I was fortunate enough to meet him and his personality was just as great and beautiful as his voice. A powerful wail that carried through the biggest halls, executed with such passion... A passion that truly inspires me and so many others out there. His voice will echo in eternity forever, whilst he is riding the dragon!

Theatres Des Vampires were amongst the progenitors of a sound that would later come to be known as Vampiric Metal. Their mania-cal search for all things Vampiric has resulted in a gothic and horrifying image that has inspired a near-religious following from their fans.

Initially inspired strongly by symphonic black metal, Theatres Des Vampires has since evolved a sound all their own; a masterful blend of influences ranging from gothic to classical, electronic to opera. Theatres Des Vampires have created a personal style of melancholia and crepuscular melodies. The sepulchral wedding of Sonya Scarlet and her male counterpart creates a vocal incarnation that is both catchy and powerful.

If Vampirism has a SOUL. ..this soul has a name.. Theatres des Vampires!!!

Sonya Scarlet

Sonya studied ballet at the Santa Cecilia Acad-emy from the age of 4, later deciding to study opera singing at the academy. She joined the band as a backing vocalist with Justine in 1999, but Justine left in 2002. In late 2004 Lord Vampyr left the band and Sonya became the sole vocalist of the band. She was one of the songwriters for the band on the album De-sire Of Damnation. In 2008 Sonya suffered a breakdown, which led to a hiatus in the band’s career. Scarlet has an original appearance which often draws fans to their live shows, but appearances are often controversial in the countries in which she plays.

Cinnamun Beloved

Elize Ryd

Elize Ryd was born into a family of musicians and started to sing and dance even as a 3 year old child, together with her brother Jo-han Carlzon and sister Elina Ryd. From the very begin-ning it was obvious that she had a unique voice and a natural talent for singing and performing. She started with dance lessons early and was only 4 when she performed in public for the first time. At the age of 13 she won a talent contest in Gothenburg as the youngest participant in the competition, and also received a scholarship award

as “most promising singer”. After graduating from ele-mentary school, she decided to become a musical artist and entered the Kongahälla High School Musical Line for 3 years, where she was awarded for “most beautiful voice”.

Elize auditioned with all her teachers, singing in front of different audiences and often bringing tears in their eyes from her amazing voice. Soon she got in touch with the singer of the Swedish power metal band FALCONER, who asked her to be a guest singer on their next CD. It would be her first step into the rock music industry. Elize had always been wanting to do musicals and shows and from that moment on, her career was launched and on its way up.

After working as a “Cabaret Virtuoso” in the high-class Cabaret Lorensberg in Goth-enburg, she met Jake E., from the band DREAMLAND. With Dreamland she recorded the song “Fade Away”. Then Olof Mörck asked her for a collaboration in his band DRAGONLAND and she recorded vocals on their album “Cassiopeja”. It was the beginning of a strong and fructuous friendship between Jake, Olof and Elize. Some time later, Elize graduated from a three year long educa-tion at Gothenburg’s Perform-ing Arts School - School for Professional Musical Artists - and her interest in joining Olof

Amaranthe is a Power Metal band that originates from Sweden and Denmark. Formed by Jake E (Dream-land, Dream Evil) and Olof Mörck (Dragonland, Night-rage), the project began taking shape, when singers Elize Ryd (toured with Ka-melot) and Andreas Solves-trom (Cipher System, Within Y), signed on, as did drum-mer Morten Løwe Sørensen (The Cleansing, Koldborn, Mercenary). Bassist Johan Andreassen (Engel) joined after the photoshoot for Leave Everything Behind demo but before the record-ing of first album Amaranthe.

In May 2009, the band was forced to change their name from Avalanche due to legal issues. They later released their first demo, Leave Every-thing Behind. The band’s debut album, Amaranthe, charted in Swe-den and Finland.

On August 13, 2012, the band announced that they will enter the studio on Sep-tember 24 to record the new album, which should be released in early 2013.

and Jake’s project turned into a concrete decision. A few months later Avalanche, later renamed AMARANTHE, was born.

AMARANTHE’s first single “Leave Everything Behind” was an immediately high charted single in Sweden and Finland. Their debut album “Amaranthe” was released in April 2011 under Spine-farm/Universal Records and reached immediate recogni-tion. Swedish newspapers praised them as a band able to “conquer the world”. Indeed that catchy album, where Elize’s voice stands out for its warmth, energy and purity, was soon acclaimed worldwide, even being the 84th most played album on Spotify in the whole world, all genres.

In Spring 2011, Amaranthe did a full European Tour with the legendary metal masters KAMELOT, followed by ap-pearances at major festivals such as LOUDPARK in Japan and Metal Female Voices Fest in Belgium, and a whole new European Tour in Autumn 2011, with the Swedish power metal band HAMMERFALL.In 2010 Elize was chosen by KAMELOT as one of their female touring vocalists; in 2011 she joined them again for their Worldwide tour, doing special guest appearances all over South America, North America and Europe.

During the past two years Elize went on working as a

show performer, but she’s now more and more focused on Amaranthe and her singer career. Besides her collabo-ration with most known metal acts above, she took part in many albums by Swedish and international artists, such as Takida, Renegade Five and Houston. Dragonland have also just released their 5th album, where Elize does guest vocals again. Elize receives countless requests from well-known artists to fea-ture her great voice on their albums, and undoubtedly she is one of the most promising female vocalists in the current rock/metal scene.

Stories of hope and the human nature. The underlining process of being transformed and re-born free. A second in life when the soul cries in grief. The song of the universe translated in mu-sic from the hands of a modern-ist musical quartet, formed in 2010 by Joel Griiyo. Kristalida brings a refreshing musical adventure for those who dare to experience the deepest human emotions. With inspiring and touching lyrics as a primordial back bone and lus-

cious arrangements as a shiny aura, Kristalida captivates and mesmerizes. An uplifting guitar crunch pro-vides an addictive drive to a Metal Fusion style that movesalong the Symphonic Metal, Progressive and Rock genres.

The stories begin as life itself could bring them. The drums and the bass can sometimes dance under the shine of a bril-liant moon. The guitars run in

circles and scream wanting to explode. Then a French Horns section summons the madness of strings in a philharmonic peace, ending the story in a metal fusion frenzy.

After writing the music of their album and the release of their debut Maxi Single and Promo-tional Video, Life or Death, the long waited live perfor-mances arrived featuring a show full of energy and dramat-ic dynamism. Life or Deathhas been featured as part of the radio program “Mi Rock” at 107.3 FM radio. Kristalida acquired a crowd of followers impressed by the distinctive music and elegant presence.

At 2008 Julia Gaos left the group, and in 2009 they recorded two DEMO songs with the a new member, our current and defini-tive female frontwoman BRENDA GAVIÑO. Also within this year, Rick Part joins in as a guitarist to complement and aid Vince’s gui-tar, and on the 4th of December, they shared stage with the dutch band Epica, in the Teatro Estudio Cavaret in Guadalajara (and so they shared stage again on janu-ary 29th, 2011).
