The 28-10 win kept the Monarchs unbeaten at home and with still 4 games to be played at AAMI, 3 of which round out the season Melbourne is looking good for a top four finish. "Its a great place to play. It seems louder than most other places and the fans here are special. Everyone knocks Melburne as far as Gridiron is concerned but the core group of supporters are fanatical and they bring it every time we play here" Cornerback peter Marks said. The home fans had plenty to cheer about tonight. Import Quarterback Matt Ryan finally seemed to be in sync with his receivers. Brad Pill in particular was damaging with 7 receptions, 6 of which came in the first half. This on top of last weeks 10 catch effort. Wollongong did score first and that came when a corner blitz caught out Ryan and Ryan Filipi forced a fumble. Brad Dyer was on hand to recover the ball and scramble the 26 yards for the score. This was just an aberration as Melbourne got right back on the horse and with the next possession went 15 plays and 57 yards to put Tyrone Redman in from short yardage. Wollongong did respond with their best offensive drive of the night but could only manage a field goal. Melbourne on the other hand were scoring in sevens and another long 71 yard drive saw Ryan find his Tight End Tim APpleton over the middle from 11 yards out. After an early battle for field position in the second half, the Monarchs continued to be impressive. Touchdowns to Hayden Sumanufegai and Ligi Ivan only reinforced the difference between the two sides. Ryan did leave the game in the 4th quarter after he smashed his arm against a pass rusher but the result was already in hand. Further injuries to Jarvis Moss and Mitch

Match Report;

Monarchs flex their muscle in dominant home win over Miners-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Melbourne,VIC- In a warning to the other teams in the National SUper League, the Melbourne Monarchs put away the Wollongong Miners in convincing fashion at AAMI Park tonight.

Further injuries to Jarvis Moss and Mitch Oldfield will be a concern but Melbourne seemed to have put their off field dramas behgind them and are now very much in the Championship chase.
