Even if you never open them, once

medicines have left the Pharmacy, they

cannot be recycled or used by anyone

else.

Please bring your unused medicines to

the Pharmacy for safe disposal.

NEVER dispose of your unused or un-

Wasted or unused medicine is a seri-

ous and growing problem within the

NHS that you can help tackle.

It is estimated that as much as

£300million is wasted every year on

unused or partially used medication.

Wasted medicine is everyone's respon-

sibility and there are small changes you

can make to help reduce the amount of

medicine being wasted.

By reducing the amount of medicines

being wasted each year, we could in-

crease the available funding for other

desperately needed health services.

Unused prescription medicines cost the

NHS in the UK an estimated £300million

every year. This could pay for..

11,778 MORE community nurses or

80,906 MORE hip replacements or

19,799 MORE drug treatment courses for

breast cancer or

300,000 MORE drug treatment

courses for Alzheimer's or

312,175 MORE cataract operations

Remember that unused medicines cannot

Morning surgery is open access. The

GPs start at 9am and reception staff

stop taking names at 10:30am. You can

book in from 9:00am.

This means you are guaranteed to see a

GP on the day you wish to see one as

long as you arrive at surgery before

10:30am. This is something we are very

proud of at Mill View surgery.

At times it can mean an increased wait-

ing time, the overall feedback from you

is that you are happy with the way the

system works.

If you feel this way or

otherwise, please leave

a comment in the repeat

prescription box.

Your comments and

suggestions are always

valuable to us.
