This is a very technical job that involves using a laptop to troubleshoot maintenance problems, load, and unload the jet safely. Weapons Technicians are also responsible for their tools and tool boxes. They must be cleaned, maintained, and properly stored. This job requires completion of a 3 month technical school and 3 months of on-the-job training. Technicians must have hands-on skills, be able to navigate and use IMIS and IMDS software, tool knowledge and use, electronics, hydraulics, wiring skills, compressed air use, attention to detail, and be able to adapt to their environment.

They conduct physical health assessments, hearing tests, monitor work environments, conduct STI interviews, set up appointments and screen pre and post deployment personnel, and conduct food inspections of food facilities on base. They also conduct inspections of the barber shop and hotel on base for health and sanitation. This job requires attention to detail, knowledge of and certification by CAOHC, knowledge of health and wellness like nutrition, blood pressure, and signs and symptoms of mental health disease, research countries for potential threats to health to educate and vaccinate personnel, educate and break the chain of infection of STIs, and monitor flu shot compliance, food inspections, and sanitation compliance. They also work with Bioenvironmental to monitor the health and safety of shop environments and keep them in compliance with OSHA.
