Reflection

For my midterm assignment I chose the song Everything You Need, by Slightly

Stoopid, a California-based band. This song is about appreciating what you have and

when you think you need something more you really need to just appreciate what you

already have and make the best of it. One reason I chose this song because I have been

listening to this song for almost five years now and I feel that I can relate to it every time

I hear it with my real life situations. Another reason I chose this song is the lyrics are

very visually descriptive. For the first verse, “Like walking on the moon was such a good

feeling” I put a picture of the man walking on the moon with the American flag in the

crust of the moon. The second verse, “I’m laying in bed and I’m staring at the ceiling” I

chose a picture of a man lying in bed pondering while staring at the ceiling. The third

verse, “Can’t wake up Monday morning” I chose a picture of a kid struggling to wake

from his bed trying to hit the snooze button. The fourth verse, “Thinking about work

makes me yawn” I chose a picture of a man at work looking sluggishly tired and yawning

at the desk in his office. For the fifth verse, “As I look outside it’s raining, pouring” I

decided on a picture that shows a view of someone looking out their door to a rainstorm

in a village. I felt like the five opening verses to this song were very fitting because they

are lines that are easy to describe with an image. With that being said this song seemed

like the most compatible to turn into a movie scene.
