Figure drawing is arguably the most difficult subject an artist commonly encounters, yet one of the most enduring themes in the visual arts. The human figure can be the basis of portraiture, illustration, sculpture, medical illustration and other fields. Models will be costumed and will not pose nude.

Watercolor Skills (ages 16 and older)Instructor: Laura MandileThursday, 7:00-9:00 pm6 classes – Members: $180, Non-Members: $195Spring Session: April 5th – May 10thIn this class you will learn methods which will take the mystery out of successful watercolor paintings. Watercolor is a beautiful medium that some avoid because they find it difficult and unforgiving. This class offers techniques for mixing colors, creating values, controlling edges and the classic art of washes and dry brush, and more; including subjects such as florals, still life, landscape and portraits. All that is needed to bring are: a basic understanding of drawing and a desire to learn. A supply list will be given upon registration, which includes a few specific brushes, a watercolor palette, and a good quality pad of paper. No prior experience necessary.

It also includes infrared filter techniques, infrared and full spectrum camera conversions, and different applications for infrared photography. You will also learn how to post-process infrared RAW files into false color or B & W shots, and ways to create infrared-like shots from regular color photos.

You will learn how to develop and digitize B&W film followed by converting digital color photos into appealing looking B&W photos.
