The Web-based social initiative supports rural entrepre- neurs with access to cost effective capital for business and education needs. Rang De raises social capital from individuals who can become social investors by lending as little as R100. Through this fundraising model, Rang De is able to reduce the cost of capital to the end user. Social investors get back their investments with a Web-based microfinance and interact with the borrowers who they have lent money to. Rang De has reached out to more than 10,127 borrowers across India with the help of 2,906 social investors. The organization has raised and disbursed more than R5 crore to borrowers and has a repayment rate of 98.56%.
