=========================================================================GOLFWEEK MAGAZINE SELECTS MANITOU PASSAGE GC IN BEST 2010 COURSES LIST=========================================================================Golfweek Magazine has chosen Manitou Passage Golf Club, located near the Sleeping Bear NationalLakeshore in the Leelanau Peninsula, as one of its "Best New Courses"in 2010. The recognition ofthe 40 top new courses in the country appears in the October issue of the magazine.

This accolade makes Manitou Passage Golf Club one of the top destination courses in northernMichigan. The course joins Harbor Shores Golf Club, designed by Jack Nicklaus, as one of the twoMichigan courses to make the Golfweek's best new list.

Manitou Passage Golf Club is a signature Arnold Palmer design that has gone through a majorrenovation and restoration project to complete and update the design that was originally envisioned byPalmer.

When a group of golf devotees purchased the course over a year ago, they did so with the goal ofcreating a new destination course featuring exceptional playing conditions and unmatched service.That group, lead by Bob Kuras, president of The Homestead, brought the Arnold Palmer DesignCompany, Peridian International, and the Wadsworth Golf Construction Company in to assist withthe renovation efforts.

Under the direction of Kuras and his son James, Wadsworth completed the majority of the changesrecommended by Palmer. Renovations included the repositioning, adding and squaring off of tee-boxes, widening of fairways in key landing areas, renovating bunkers, lengthening some holes,restoring areas with native grasses and clearing of trees and brush to open vistas to the area's naturalbeauty.

This past weekend shoppers at Macy's in Philadelphia (the old Wanamaker building) were surprisedwhen over 600 choristers, who were mingling with shoppers, suddenly burst into Handel's"Hallelujah Chorus."

The Opera Company of Philadelphia was instrumental in bringing them as one of the KnightFoundation's "1000 Random Acts of Culture," which they'll be doing across the country over the nextthree years. The singers burst into song at exactly noon accompanied by the Wanamaker Organ, theworld's largest pipe organ.
