I mean, whatever your politics, or wherever you live, you have to admit -- this lady is no mannequin.She is a powerful, highly intelligent woman, unafraid to express herself through fashion,unapologetic about her imposing 5'11" height, and unashamed of her size 11.5 feet. Seriously ladies,what is not to love?

The First Lady of Style herself has said, "Fashion plays an important role in my confidence." And itreally shows. From preppy flat pumps, through flirty kitten heels, to all-out killer heels, she playswith the stuffy and boring traditions of Washington power dressing and writes a new dress code ofwhat is appropriate, often using bold color and statement styles that show a sense of individualityand fun.

So to honor the First Lady of Fabulous Footwear, here's our favorites among her big size shoe styles,plus her favorite big shoe brands:

FLOTUS Flats

Pretty and practical, Michelle Obama's collection of flat pumps and ballet flats are probably myfavorite thing about her shoe style. Heels are great -- but only when you feel like wearing them-- soMrs O's decision to skip the heels for certain occasions in favor of go-anywhere flats is a(comfortable) step forward for practical fashion we can all appreciate.

Typically in either a black or neutral patent to add interest to a low-key look, or a bold bright for acomplimentary pop of color, Michelle Obama's seems to love a pointed toe -- opposite to most advicefor wearing a larger size shoe. She also wears a lot of metallic flats to add up to date interest to flatstyles.

Among her flat pump collection are Cole Haan ballet flats, J. Crew, and on the recent presidentialvisit to India, Jimmy Choo Attilla metallic flats (pictured center right).

Commander in Chic Kitten Heels

Michelle Obama has been credited with bringing back the kitten heel into the professional woman'scloset in 2008, so we have wearable heels to thank her for. With styles spanning the range of classic(often with that pointy toe shape), slingbacks and peep-toe, and materials including patents forglossy polish, as well as snakeskin and crocodile-effect leathers to add interest to classic styles andcombinations, Michelle Obama has made the style her own, and consistently looked great.

While her favorite brand seems to be Jimmy Choo for elegant kitten heels (she busts out her blackpatent and her metallic Aza pumps a lot), she also wears Diane von Furstenberg, J. Crew, and evenZara sometimes.

Mrs O. Boots

Famous for her flats and kitten heels, Michelle Obama should equally be celebrated for herfabulously styled boots. Kitten-heeled or flat, they are understated, chic, and yes, practical, but oftenwith a little twist -- a just glimpsed over the knee, or a chunky chain.

Confirmed sightings include Tory Burch boots in the White House pumpkin patch (pictured), ReedKrakoff for the first inauguration in 2009 (pictured main image), and once again, Jimmy Choo.
