Methodist Ancillary Services Methodist offers a wide range of ancillary services that provide outstanding care and help improve the quality of life of individuals and their families. Ancillary services include: • Methodist Home Health Services. Our professional staff takes care of you or your loved one in the comfort of your own home. We provide care in a nine-county region surrounding Peoria. Home healthcare is less expensive than hospital care and can help avoid early nursing home placement. A registered nurse works with your doctor to plan the treatment that is best for you, and visits you as often as your doctor decides. Nurses are also on call 24 hours a day to answer your questions and, if needed, make an unscheduled home visit. Services include: Medication management Injections & Infusion Therapy (IVs for pain control, antibiotics, and chemotherapy) Respiratory/ventilator care Nutrition therapy Rehabilitation care Wound care Methodist Lifeline (24/7 emergency help) • Methodist Hospice Services. Our compassionate staff provide physical, emotional, social, and spiritual comfort care for people with a terminal illness and their loved ones. Hospice care gives the patient control of end-of-life choices and focuses on quality of life. Hospice care is provided in an individual’s home (or loved one’s home) and in area nursing homes and assisted-living communities. Services include: Pain/symptom management 24-hour on-call help of nurses and counselors Physician services Spiritual and supportive counseling Personal care by certified nursing assistants Supportive care by trained volunteers One-on-one grief support for family members Ongoing Grief and Loss Support Group Camp Courageous – a free one-day grief camp for children ages 5-18 who have lost a loved one We are committed to delivering outstanding healthcare. •Methodist Center for Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine, accredited by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society. We treat all types of chronic wounds, prevent infections, and teach patients how to avoid re-injury. Our team of wound experts works with your doctor to bring you life-changing results. Services include: •Laboratory tests •X-rays, bone scans, and/or MRIs •Vascular (blood flow) studies •Bedside surgical removal of infected tissue and bone •Antibiotics •Special dressings or ointments •Treatments to relieve pressure areas •Dietary counseling •Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO) - a treatment in which the patient breathes 100% oxygen inside a pressurized chamber to heal wounds and fight infections. Conditions that can benefit from HBO include diabetic ulcers, post-radiation tissue injury, osteomyelitis, and soft tissue infections.

•MethodistDiabetesCareCenter. Our staff includes a physician, registered nurses, registered dietitians, and exercise specialists all specially trained in diabetes care. We can help you learn how to manage diabetes for improved quality of life. We take the time to explain to you how to: •Take medication wisely •Exercise safely •Monitor and understand your blood glucose numbers •Prevent/treat extremes in blood glucose •Follow a healthy, delicious diet •Use an insulin pump

•Methodist Wellness Center The Wellness Center offers services for people of all fitness levels. Conveniently located in the Methodist Atrium building, our fitness center is fully equipped with treadmills, stationary bikes, rowing machines, Stairmasters, Cybex® progressive resistance equipment, free weights, an aerobics area, a lap pool and heated therapy pool. Services include: • Personal training •Health screenings and diagnostic testing • Classes (including water fitness, aerobics, and resistance training) •Nutrition & weight loss counseling • Phase II and III cardio-pulmonary rehab
