Royal Rules! by Coraline Clam In this messy modern day some merfolk simply don’t know how to act around royalty! Any mermaid could offend Queen Ewdina by giving her the wrong gift or serving her the wrong food. Luckily, we here at MerStyle Magazine have done our research, and are here to help you avoid TOTAL embarrassment with these handy tips for meeting royalty. 1. When greeting Queen Edwina, it is important to remember to always address her as “Your Majesty” first and then “Ma’am.” This is her royal title and is a sign of respect to one of the most powerful mermaids in the Western Ocean. 2. Another thing to remember is to curtsy! It shows respect and is very polite. To curtsy properly, twist your fins backwards twice and gently bend at your waist. This can take time to master, so be sure to practice. 3. It is important NOT to touch the Queen. EVER! Don’t shake her hand unless she offers it first. If you do shake her hand make sure you do it gently. This rule also means no hugging, kissing on the cheek, or pats on the shoulder. 4. Queen Edwina’s favorite flowers are Sea Lavender. She carried them in her wedding bouquet when she married King Rudolph. It is a tradition to present the Queen with freshly picked flowers when meeting her. Be sure to remember this! 5. When eating a meal with Queen Edwina be sure not to sit or eat anything until she does first. A favorite dish of hers is feathery pulse coral cookies, so be sure to have some freshly baked. (Bonus Tip: If you really want to impress the Queen, be sure to serve your meal on gold plates and have a beautiful centerpiece!) 6. Always remember that while making a good impression with the Queen is important, she has said, “The Royal Family does not wish any merperson to worry too much when buying clothes, food, or decoration.” We thought it was very nice of her to say so, but always try to look your best and be sure to follow the other tips above! This colorful tail fin was seen splashing around in the trendiest fashion boutique around. This Mermaid obviously knows how to use the proper tail polish to keep her fins bright and glowing! Royal Rules!

by Coraline Clam

In this messy modern day some merfolk simply don’t know how to act around royalty!

4. Queen Edwina’s favorite flowers are Sea

Lavender.

(Bonus Tip: If you really want to impress the Queen, be sure to serve your meal on gold plates and have a beautiful centerpiece!)

6. Always remember that while making a good

impression with the Queen is important, she has said, “The Royal Family does not wish any merperson to worry too much when buying clothes, food, or decoration.” We thought it was very nice of her to say so, but always try to look your best and be sure to follow the other tips above!

TAIL TIPS

Hey there fashion forward mermaids!

Ready for some super fun and totally funky tips from some of

the most fashionable mermaids in the whole sea?

WE SURE ARE!!!!!!!!

Tyra Baybanks:

“A smile is the best addition to any outfit.”

Sandy Shores:

“Dress to impress only one person; YOURSELF!”

Calvin Seashine:

“Incredible fashion comes from people daring enough to dream

the impossible.”

Chelsea Clownfish:

“Human objects may seem exotic and fun, but they can’t compare to your natural mermaid flair.”

IN and OUT by Jessica

IN: Turtles! Even though they are way wrinkly and can be pretty old, we here at MerStyle have the real scoop. Turtle are friendly and way fashionable. They are some of the most traveled creatures in the whole sea and have a million super awesome stories to tell.

OUT: Turns out that last month’s jellyfish craze is so passé! That means it is OUT! Jellyfish were cool, and we thought it was neat how many different kinds of jellyfish there were, but they just couldn’t keep up with the fashion flow. So ditch your jellyfish junk and pick up a cute turtle shell back-pack or an octopus hat!

DESTINATION SPOT LIGHT

This month we here at MerStyle have found the nicest vacation location in the whole Western Ocean. Located in Trident City, the Trident Plaza Hotel has anything a merperson could dream of! Fancy food, wonderful rooms, a dreamy reception hall and even a spa and boutique! Keep it in mind for any traveling you might be doing, or even a place for a future wedding! For the nature minded you can even visit the Conservatory for the Preservation of Sea Horses and Swordfishes in the lobby.

Autumn Hair Accessories

Now that the cooler currents are heading our way, it’s time to change up what you’ve got going on in your hair-do. Jellyfish are way too summery for this time of year for sure, but our fashion team has got the scoop for how to make your hair the center of attention.

1. Up-dos were fun for the warmer days of summer, but now is the time to let your hair loose and have some fun.

2. Bioluminescence is all the rage this season. You can use anything from plankton to shrimp to seaweed to krill. Just make sure that it glows!

3. Try using some colorful coral to add a bit of flair to any outfit. A bit of anemone placed just perfectly in your hair can take any look from not, to hot.

THE RAD RAYS RETURN!

This is a great month for music lovers out there! They Rays have returned to the stage with a brand new album, and they are looking even cuter than ever. We took a quick poll online and here’s who you thought was cutest this month! Alden – Of course Alden, the cool leader of the Rays came in at number one. Harmon – The bad boy of the group made waves at number 2 this month by wearing a cool shark skin jacket at the Shell Wars Halftime Show. Harmon was sure to say that the shark died naturally. Teddy – In at number 3, the loveliest voice of the band has plenty of fans. Ellis – This total cutie came in 4th, but he still got plenty of votes from you lovely mermaids.

This just in! Background singer Gwen was injured and one lucky Trident City resident swam in to help out at a private party. Word on the waves is that it was local girl Shelly Siren. We managed to get this picture of the performance just for our

readers!
