MEMO ROGUE: A (Work)Lifestyle Magazine
There’s more to office life than coffee and career planning, which is why M|R is dedicated to the many aspects of a woman’s worklifestyle—from fashion to relationships to health to tech… all packaged in a chic, little wrapper.

WHY M|R?
• WE’RE AT THE OFFICE MORE THAN ANYWHERE ELSE
• HOSTILITY IS RAMPANT AND WOMEN MENTORS ARE RARE
• WE VALUE WORK/LIFE BALANCE, BUT THE LINE IS BLURRED

We’re at the office more than anywhere else
The math is simple. Women working a full-time job spend at least half of their waking hours at the office. And that number tends to increase with education level, salary, and responsibilities. Those of us with the most demanding jobs spend well over 75% of our time at work.

Hostility is rampant and women mentors are rare
Ninety-five percent of women surveyed by the American Management Association believed they were undermined by another woman at some point in their careers. Additionally, a University of Toronto study revealed that women working under female supervisors reported more symptoms of physical and psychological stress than those working under men.

We value work/life balance, but the line is blurred
suc · cess [sək-ˈses] noun. Achieving the right work-life balance
work · life bal · ance [wərk līfˈbaləns] noun. Unknown
According to a recent study by Linkedin, nearly two-thirds of women measure success as achieving the right work/life balance. Similarly, CareerBuilder found that we are 20% more likely than men to focus on this balance when evaluating employers. But due to job expectations and the ubiquity of tech, separating our work and personal lives is nearly impossible.
