MEM661 Applied Welding Engineering ASSIGNMENT – Student Instruction manual for preparation of Assignment Report Assignment to include Report on Control of Welding Distortion, Welding Simulation and/or Robotic welding and programming. Steps to be taken by students as follows: 1) Search literatures related to Control of Welding Distortion. 2) Learn and explore Welding Simulation software (such as SYSWELD, SIMUFACT) and/or Robotic Welding programming. 3) Apply Welding Predictor to select the welding parameters (Welding current, voltage and welding speed) for welding simulation and/or robotic welding. 4) Find the best welding parameters using simulation software or robotic welding. 5) Estimate the distortion using Simulation or measure the distortion after robotic welding. 6) Prepare Assignment Report for submission to include: a. Control of Welding Distortion b. Welding Simulation (using SYSWELD or SIMUFACT) and/or Robotic Welding Programming c. Discussion d.
