- Oversee the operational readiness of all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems onboard. -Ensure that all preventive and corrective maintenance of hull, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems are carried out properly and in good time. -Ensure that pre-sea checks have been conducted and that the ship is ready to sail at all time. -Liaise with external agencies on matters regarding modifications, alterations, defects and logistic support that are beyond ship’s capability. -Responsible for the training and instruction of all ship’s personnel with regards to fire fighting and damage control. Prepare the ship for up slip to dry dock or floating dock. Participate in acceptance trials and ensure all jobs carried out by yard are satisfactory. -Manage and develop a team of 15 mechanical and electrical technicians to carry out operations and repair works of all mechanical, electrical,

hydraulic and pneumatic systems onboard. In charge of the training, welfare, discipline and career development of the team members. -Documentation of planned maintenance schedule, operating control procedures and other administrative documents. -Manages the logistic and monetarily requirements of the ship when deployed overseas. This includes liaising with overseas chandler and fuel companies on the purchase of water, food, spares and fuel when required. -Preparing and producing the ship documents for audit in attaining OHSAS 2009 certification on behalf of the Squadron. -Liaise and assist the Logistic department in identifying supplier and purchasing of spares with the cheapest price. -Interview, assessment and selection of engineering crew for shipboard appointments
