Akhiropithos Monastry is located in Kyrenia. After careful Akhiropithos Monastry is located in Kyrenia. After careful evaluations, I have discovered the potential of re-use. The earlier use also had acoustical charachter regarding its needs. Therefore, the idea of using it as music studios have been arised. Users (bands, singers, production technicians, etc.) may need places to stay in and work on projects for a continiuos term. Zonguldak  Municipality  has  planned  a  new  use  for  the  disZonguldak  Municipality  has  planned  a  new  use  for  the  dis-

trict,  gathering  all  provincial  directorates  (PD)  in  one  place,  

creating  a  campus.  When  the  problem  of  the  area  and  dis-

tances  between  PDs  is  examined,  the  idea  of  forming  a  PD  

Garden  area  is  considered.  The  project  buildings  are  8  PDs,  

using  the  same  building  of  the  following  pairs;  Justice  -  

Labor  &  Social  Security,  Family  &  Social  -  Health,  Food,  Agri

culture  &  Livestock  -  Foesty  &  Water,  Culture  &  Tourism  -  

Youth  &  Sports.

1  Archive  Floor:  It  holds  the  open  archive  of  the  attached  Provincial  Democtorate.  Archive  is  redefined  by  pulling  it  

out  from  the  underground  location  and  relocationg  at  the  top  of  service  floor  for  their  easy  use.  Archive  is  also  kept  

away  from  the  public  use  as  more  private.

2  Service  Floor:  This  floor  is  the  main  floor  for  people  came  here  for  a  PD  related  reason.  Provincial  Democtorate  

building  serves  here  for  public  and  work  at  that  floor.  The  circulation  at  the  crack  is  also  for  this  use.

33  Administration  -  NGO  Floor:  Ground  floor  has  the  administrative  function  located  in  glass,  defining  the  public  

transparency.  Crack  here  has  the  NGO  use.  People  walk  here,  talk  here  and  spend  time  here  while  some  of  the  most  

‘important’  people  of  the  government  works  inside  at  the  same  time.

4  Urban  Floor:  Conferance  halls,  training  and  meeting  rooms  with  close  and  open  foyers,  this  floor  is  the  urban  space  

in  which  people  learn,  solve  and  participate.  Three  urban  stairs  go  underground  and  fed  by  the  cafeteria  that  can  also  

open  up  to  stairs.

1  Wooden  Cube:  So  called  “directorates”

stand  as  a  solid  representaion  of  government.

Strict,  impermeable,  hard,  stand-alone,

introverted,  etc.

2  Cracked  solid:  Project  objectives  crack  this

existing  mass  and  makes  it  permeable.

3  Public  penetration:3  Public  penetration:  Public  and  garden

interaction  &  penetration  opens  up  the  cube.  

Directorate  turns  into  the  Democtorate.
