Meetings as unique as you are

Everyone has a different approach to work.Everyone has a different approach to communicating, collaborating, and conferencing. That’s what makes us and our communications unique.

THE MARCO POLO THE NARCISSISTTHE PAPER PUSHER THE INVISIBLE MAN

THE ‘HAVE-A-GOER’ THE DOCUMENTER THE TECH JUNKIE YOU

As in all walks of life, when you understand the people, you understand their goals. And when you understand other people’s goal…

it’s workflow DYNAMITE.

Which one are you?

Let’s take a look at some of the usual suspects that you meet on virtual conferences.

THE MARCO POLO

#1

The intrepid traveller of the conferencing world, this participant is always on the go!

This person is joining conference calls as the world around her passes by. This lady is super organised to help keep on top of everything she needs

to get done.

There’s no doubt this lady is, quite literally, a high-flyer;other distinguishing characteristics include an obscure job title (Special Projects!) and an almost superhero like ability to pack a suitcase in 30 seconds flat! This participant likes things to run smoothly and on time like those Swiss trains she is always on.

Platforms like ArkadinVision.

She needs, with a click, and no time consuming downloads or hassle, to use an easy platform to connect to calls.

THE PAPER PUSHER

#2

The Paper Pusher is a little bit old school.

Whenever the Paper Pusher joins a call it’s mostly the top of his head that you can see. No one has yet pointed it out for fear of embarrassing him...; or finding

out that it’s deliberate and his forehead just really is his best feature!

This chap takes all his notes on paper. He needs a virtual meeting platform that is intuitive, easy to use and interoperable with what he is used to.

He doesn’t care that the younger chaps join via their mobile,(mobiles haven’t been the same since Blackberry went out of style); he just wants to use his video conferencing room

A platform like ArkadinVision.

He needs a platform that lets him join the way he wants and his workforce the way they want.

THE NARCISSIST

#3

This conference character always gets the job done but my word, they look fabulous doing it. They always use the video when joining a call...and then spend the rest of the call doing their hair in their video screen.

At the heart of this is face-to-face contact. They like seeing themselves on video sure, but they also like seeing others to help pick up visual cues, helping to pick up what really they’re feeling and thinking. In short, video adds a personal element that audio can’t.

and encourages others to do the same.

The narcissist needs a platform that is easy to join via video

THE INVISIBLE MAN

#4

This person is...well no one actually knows. They’re always on the call (they never use video), they say “hi” at the start

and then… well that’s it.

An hour later, as you’re wrapping up the callthe invisible man pops up again to say “goodbye”. What he has been doing in the meantime is anyone’s guess.

The invisible man might not be the biggest presence in a virtual meeting

(one gets the impression he would be happier just sat silently in a room on his own); and what he wants from a virtual meeting platform

is anyone’s guess.

But while he is being silent in the backgroundthe rest of the participants are busy chatting, sharing their video cameras and swapping documents left, right and centre.

THE ‘HAVE-A-GOER’#5

The ‘have-a-goer’ is the direct opposite to the Invisible Man.This conference participant takes real pride in all their team being on the same page, quite literally.

They’re always sharing documents and showing their screenin an effort to make sure that the rest of the team know exactly what they are talking about.

Though, the ‘have-a-goer’s’ teammight say that the time he used the screen share function to show his holiday photos, all 156 of them, was a step too far; screen sharing is a great way of making sure everyone is pulling together.

no matter what devices the participants are using.

To bring the team onto the same page and talk through key points in detail the ‘have-a-goer’ needs a platform

that can make screen sharing easy,

THE DOCUMENTER

#6

The documenter, helps keep everything ticking overThey join via video or audio, whichever is most convenient for them and from wherever they are - be it on the train, the airport lounge or home office, to ensure they’re connected and not miss anything.

she likes to...document things.

The documenter has elements of the Marco Polo and the ‘Have-a-goer’ with one difference,

The documenter logs everything. Absolutely everything.No-one asked them to do it, they just do. Then they send it to you all after the call.

The documenter’s behaviour might seem bizarre;but two weeks later, when everyone has forgotten exactly what was said, they’re very glad for the comprehensive breakdown the documenter has provided.

The documenter just likes everything to be listed.

They enjoy the freedom that their video conferencing platforms give them, freedom to work where they like,

how they like, on whatever device they like.

THE TECH JUNKIE

#7

Conferences with the Tech Junkie are a wild adventure, because you can never tell which technology the Junkie is going to use next.

The Tech Junkie likes apps, man does he like appsHe will expect you to be on Skype and Slack; he’ll WhatsApp you to remind you of the meeting; he’ll Check In from his own desk just for kicks and oh, all the stuff’s on DropBox, haven’t you read it yet?

Some indulge with the Tech Junkie’s passion,

but keeping up is never going to be possible (especially for the Paper Pusher)!

But what the Tech Junkie really needs is not more appsbut a single platform that lets him join the conference from any device, anywhere, let’s him dial-in or join via video. He needs a platform that lets him share documents and content.

YOU#8

So how do YOU like to work?

Our set of 7 needs an 8th. Because not everybody fits into these 7 characters.

Maybe you’re a combo of the 7 above. You have the travel schedule of the Marco Polo, but the heart of an Invisible. You have the download addiction of a Junkie, but the conscientious participation ethic of a Goer.

Whatever your style of communication and collaboration, everyone wants conferencing technology to enable personal things like work/life balance and flexible working patterns.

The great thing is new tools like

are ready to help - because they work the way you work.

Why not bring some balance to your life and give it a try?

ArkadinVision is a people-centred service that ties together different worker roles with secure multichannel communication, and probably

works smoothly with what you use already...
