a) Review of budget – (Jerry F.) – No questions from those in attendance.

b) Volunteer – Background checks – We need to review who needs them and who may not.

Meeting Notes:

-Send out request to all families requesting those that will be volunteering in any way that may interact with players.

This provides the committee’s flexibility to seek volunteers : Suggested language in note to parents: “Provided that you

do not have a an extraneous objection to having a background check performed have all the parents complete the

background check”

-After the 7/27/15 $10 fee is waived.

-No fingerprinting necessary is resident of PA for past 10 years.

-Lori Evans, Lisa Lytle, BOD members need to have paperwork in before the picnic on 8/28 (target to Peter 8/21).

V. New business – Chairperson updates:

Coach/Team - equipment, training, gear, activity needs – PHS Soccer Coaches –

Meeting Notes:

-Team building & Coach Family Thank you trip to Saturday 8/29 Union v NE Revolution MLS game - 100 Union

tickets purchased and received by Jerry F. 60 tickets to cover the JV & Varsity players, coaches and immediate

family. ~40 tickets need to be posted for sale and can be purchased prior to the picnic ($20 per ticket).

-BOD needs to make a decision if we are going to cover the cost of (1) coach bus at an estimated cost of $1,000.

This will cover transportation for players, coaches and their immediate family members. Coach can carry ~55

people.

-Option suggested by coach Birns was to charge players a nominal fee of $10 for each player to help offset the cost

of transportation.

PHS BOYS SOCCER BOOSTER CLUB

MEETING MINUTES

July 23, 2015

7PM – 8:30PM (Room D133)

Plan will be to tailgate before game (each family brings a dessert or appetizer) BC will provide hot dogs,

hamburgers or sandwiches.

Game Day program – Jack Stengel (Single sheet – color format – player roster and sponsor listing)

Meeting Notes:

-Confirmed - Jack Stengel will produce the game day programs. Mike and Tori volunteered to support as needed.

PHS Boys Soccer Yearbook – Tori and Mike Duff – (Multi-page book, sponsor ads, player “shout outs”)

Meeting Notes:

-Early September deadline (if not sooner) for sponsorship deadline). Goal is to get the yearbook in hands of

players and families early in season.

-Need to get list of prior sponsors compiles along with pricing sheet, sponsorship letter ready. Use last year’s

books as a reference.

Spirit wear- Tara Imdorf & Terri Fejes:

Meeting Notes:

-Spirit wear sales are ongoing and we confirmed quantities to be ordered to have some stock on hand for the

welcome picnic. Order has been placed with Angelo’s and payment was approved and submitted.

-Game day ball person shirts are ordered. Each game day ball person will get a free (bright colored shirt) as a

thank you for volunteering at the game. One shirt per volunteer per season.

Kick-Off Welcome Picnic – Lisa Lytle :

Meeting Notes:

-Friday 8/28 (6pm – 9pm) - Sandy Burke will follow up with Lisa to see what support is needed.

-We need to send out invitation to the picnic 8/22 (Lisa to work with Heidi)

-We need to put together a form for “In-kind donations” for business

-We need to put together “welcome packet” for families which includes Booster Club information, BC Chairperson

contact list, volunteer opportunities, fundraising forms, quick information sheet which includes links to websites

relevant to the HS Soccer season etc.

-Booster club dues will be $100 per player ($60 – no change from last year + $40 for (4) car wash coupons –

fundraiser) to be collected as families sign in at the picnic.

-Volunteer sign-up sheets are needed for each committee – these will be out for families to sign up for at the picnic

-Dom and Maria Recchia will be donating trays of baked ziti and ice for the welcome picnic.

-Divide alphabetically by class for what food is brought, Wings from Fogelsville Inn (Sunny will pick up again this

year).

Publicity/ Game day support (Youth Night, Ball persons, game day announcer & National anthem singer) – Arun Kapoor

Meeting Notes:

-(Youth Night) - In lieu of the halftime games coaches to conduct a clinic prior to the game. Peter Burke will follow

up with Coach Birns to get confirmation of youth night activities.

-Arun Kapoor will look into “speaker/microphone” combination that can be used at our home games. Consensus

from the group was that national anthem is to be played and players announced prior to games. Goal is to create

same atmosphere as stadium home games.

Snack stand – Sandy B

Meeting Notes:

-If games are scheduled for the County Fields (or elsewhere) we will need to get tents, tables and possible

generator. Dom Recchia offered the use of his open trailer to cart the snack stand set up for our home games.

Home Game Field - Games are tentatively going to be played at the county fields

Meeting Notes:

-Need confirmation on the schedule since this will impact.

Fundraising – Sunny Modessa, Jay Varrato & Lori Evans

Meeting Notes:

-New carwash on Tilghman Street by County fields as a possible opportunity for fundraising – Looking to put more

emphasis on selling car wash coupons at the welcome picnic. Kuhnesville carwash is current location.

-Discount card – Arun – will find out what the lead time and costs involved.

-Mums – Jay Varrato – Peter Burke to follow up with Jay to get order forms in parents hands at the welcome

picnic.

-Grocery cards – Lori and Tori working with Jerry for food cash cards.

-Look at possible 50/50 fundraising raffles similar to the Volleyball

-May need to get a volunteer to take over as chairperson for Amy. Peter Burke will follow up with Amy to see

what is needed and if we need to solicit a chairperson .

-Sunday (November 8, 2015) - Deposit for Holiday Inn – Fogelsville has been paid – confirmed by Jerry F.

-Invitations to families need to go out by 1st

or 2nd

week of October (consistent with past banquets).

-The website has been transitioned to the new server

-Ongoing efforts are in progress to update the website for current content and archive old information and

pictures.

-Intent of the website is for families to have an updated source of information about the Boys HS Soccer team.

Senior Night – Fia Derti & Terri Fejes:

Need to confirm the date and field location and get them posted on the web (youth night, Sr. night etc). (NO

UPDATE)

Meeting Notes:

-First event will be Saturday 8/22 (9AM) RED v GRAY scrimmage – at PHS. Booster club would like to provide

continental breakfast for families, players and coaches.

-We need to establish dates for Varsity and JV pasta nights.

Homecoming Snack stand – Sandy B:

Meeting Notes:

-Sandy sent and received confirmation from Dan Repsher that the PHS Boys Soccer team will once again provide a

snack stand at the homecoming float building day.
