CHAIR: Hello family I'm an addict named Chris, Nothing to report at this time. Just wanted to say thank you for re-electing me as your chair. Looking forward to serving with all of you this year.

In loving service, Chris R

SECRETARY: Hey family, my names Lauren & I’m an addict. I spent $20.40 on printing & $36.80 on mailing. Not much to report as of this month. Just a reminder for everyone that I/we will be using the Secretary email which is on the last page of the Minutes, which needs to edited due to a typo...ooops. I’m super grateful that I was elected as secretary & look forward to the next couple years learning new things & being of service. Thank you, Lauren B. HOSPITAL AND INSTITUTION: H&I subcommittee last met on March 17th. I was not in attendance because I was greatfully visiting my children in North Carolina. The next H&I subcommittee meeting will be tonight (April 14th) at 6:30 at Good Hope Church. We will be holding elections for subcommittee positions and facility panel leaders. I look forward to this service position and am grateful for the opportunity.

Thank you for letting me serve, Melissa N.

WEB-SERVANT: Hello family, Please be patient with me while I am still learning how to navigate through WordPress. If anyone wants a flyer posted to the Western Wayne County Area website or Facebook please email me a PDF @ [email protected] Thank your for letting me serve, Lisa K. ACTIVITIES:Good Afternoon family. We have a lot of exciting events planned for the next few months. First is our April Area Anniversary Dance. Due to it being Easter weekend, we moved the dance to Friday, April 26th. There are flyers from r the new date. Please announce this dance at your home groups. Last month, we had a trip to the DIA. We had a good turn out and everyone had a lot of fun. We also have the June camp out coming up. There are still a few spots available. Finally, we have the white water rafting trip in August. We are asking GSRs to take an informal poll at their home groups asking how many people think they will go on the trip. We are trying to get a rough idea of the number of people going to tell the white water rafting company. At the last meeting, we had our elections. Dan S. Is our co-chair, Tiffany M is the secretary, and Stuart L remains the camp out coordinator. Our meetings are the last Sunday of each month at Good Hope Lutheran begins at 6:00 p.m. we are always looking for new people to help out and provide new ideas for activities for the fellowship. Thank you for letting me serve, Jeff M.

LITERATURE: Greetings from the Literature R&D subcommittee, The 2 March workshops were a large success due to the subcommittees familiarity with the material and their ability to put folks at ease about not being graded or expected to be Stephen King, Hemingway or Poe. Of course, fun was had by all. We turned in a total of 46 worksheets for the last round of principles. Thank you, Vision of Hope, for trusting the process and us. We met Friday 4-5-19 with 4in attendance at the Living the Program meeting @ 7pm and discussed the future workshops, in April (Busy NA worker bees 4-27 and Spring Flung May 25, and yes, that’s Memorial Day weekend. So, you are excused if you can’t attend. But you are not excused the rest of the year, especially from the Ice Cream Social. Ned to spread the word and get flyers posted ASAP to the website and on Facebook, Lisa I need your contact info please. Still excited about homegroups or events willing to allow us to piggy back for a workshop. Please contact me or Mary if you are interested. The best Sub Committee in the Western Wayne County area meets the first Friday @ 7 pm in the kids kitchen of St. Ignition Church on West Chicago, during the Living the Program mtg, if you would like to stop in and see how we roll. Our next meeting will be, the same bat time, same bat channel.

Serving with love ,Rudy S. 615-689-8433 [email protected]

Rafting Options

The Lower New WildsideDo you want the Porsche or the Cadillac? While no one is going to knock the pure fun a sixteen-foot raft can offer, they also aren’t going to deny the supreme ride of a smaller boat. Wildside rafts are all about experiencing every lit tle hit and splash on the river. They are more maneuverable, less stable, and perfect for folks that want every bit of excitement the river can serve. They also work for smaller groups that want the raft all to themselves. If it looks like the fun boat to be in, that’s because it is. Rates: Saturdays – $170 Sunday thru Friday – $140

The Lower New (Full-Day)A New Experience Every TimeMany lifelong paddlers have been born out of this whitewater classic and for good reason. The Lower New offers some of the most versatile rapids and the broadest range of water levels in the country. The high volume flows match the Colorado River in Grand Canyon. The summertime levels create tight shoots, bouncy rides, and retentive holes perfect for surfing rafts. ( Yes, we do know how to surf in West Virginia .)  It’s very possible to arrive at the Lower New River at various points in the season and get a completely different ride each time. The pool-drop nature of the river, gives rafters time to relax and enjoy the beauty of the gorge in be -tween the blasts of adrenaline and boat-soaking waves.  As summertime comes, so does the tepid water temps, which are perfect for swimming and splash fights. Throw in a stop at Jump Rock, a de-licious riverside lunch, and a spectacular floating view of the New River Gorge Bridge, and you have yourself one heck of a vacation experience.Rates: Wild Wednesdays  $80 Weekdays – $89Saturdays – $120   *Saturdays in June- buy one get one 1/2 off * Sundays – $89

The Lower New (Half-Day)It’s All About the WhitewaterWho has time for lunch and Jump Rock when there’s whitewater to be had? The Lower New half-day trip focuses on one priority: whitewater.Starting from the Cunard putin, you’ll experience a straight shot of the 8.5-mile whitewater section. With over twenty rapids, including eye-poppers like The Keeney Brothers, Double Z, and Fayette Station, the Lower New will energize you and have you off the river with enough time to go find an -other New River Gorge adventure.Rates: Weekdays – $75 Weekends – $89Double Express – $160 (Sunday thru Friday) Double Express – $160 (Saturday)
