Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

Let it be known throughout the land that all Knights & Ladies, Knaves & Wenches, Serfs & Harlots are hereby summoned by His Majesty, The King of Clubs, to attend a celebration of Mid Winter Yuletide to be held at the hallowed Court of North Havelock Club on the 13th day of Augustus in the year of our Lord 2011A.D. at the hour of 6 in the afternoon.

The Jesters & Minstrels of the Court will entertain and the Cooks & Serving Wenches will ply all guests with copious quantities of ale strong and wine mulled along with a veritable mountainous:-

Medieval Feast

Guests shall be attired in suitable robes for the grand occasion or suffer the wrath and scorn of the Court Sheriff and held in the stocks for public ridicule. The Scribes of the Court shall impose a Pleasure Tax in the sum of 40 pieces of silver per guest to cover the costs of this lavish feast of gluttony and libations of excess.

So what’s it all about?

It’s all about: having fun and kicking those winter blues out the door,

dressing up in costume, be it Medieval, Elizabethan, Blackadder, Baldrick or any other period get up that takes

your fancy, motivating your like-minded friends to do the same, and

joining in on a knight (pun intended) of frivolity, feasting, jolliness & general good times.

Where? At the Havelock North Club When? Saturday 13th August at 6.00pm How much will it hurt me? $40.00 - but after some mulled wine it won’t hurt at all! Will I be entertained? OH HELL YES!!!! What do I need to bring? An open attitude to bawdy good humour, your partner (only if you insist), a healthy appetite and a good thirst!

Suitable costumes are available at very reasonable rates from Theatre HB in Hastings Street or from any of the hire companies listed in the Yellow Pages.
