The Most commonly used language was Latin.

Latin became the language of all educated people.

Medieval Monks only ate bread, The only time they ate meat was when they were sick.

They also ate fruit and vegetables which they would grow.

Friars are different from monks in that they are called to live the evangelical counsels (vows of poverty, chastity and obedience)
