Brett came to The Polo Club in 2012 with a challenge to rebuild the Club’s brand, member experience, staff morale and reputation – both inside and outside the gates. With a genuine concern for the members and his staff, along with excellent management skills, Brett has transformed Polo into one of the premier residential resort communities in the United States. At The Polo Club, Brett manages an annual budget in excess of $50 million and has overseen over $30 million in capital renovation projects. He has created an exceptional management team and gained recognition for Polo as a Platinum, Emerald and one of America’s Healthiest Clubs. In the words of Club President, Doug Green, “Brett cares – He cares about his staff, the members and the future well-being of Polo.”
The Polo Club is a Boca Raton gated community of 1,700 homes with almost 3,500 members. The Club’s amenities are operated by 350 employees, including 18 department managers. Membership categories consist of social, golf, tennis and full members.
As a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, in Hyde Park NY, his most recent club management positions were at Fresh Meadow Country Club, Wykagyl Country Club and Millbrook Golf Club – both as an Executive Chef and GM/COO. Brett and his wife Casey have one teenage daughter, Zoey.

Ray came to Ivanhoe Club in 2003 after being recruited by the then current president and a group of past presidents, including Joe McGowan who nominated him for this Award. Ray has been instrumental in Ivanhoe’s success by managing it through the recent recession, driving food and beverage sales up to $2 million, giving back to the Chicago community by supporting the Wounded Warriors Project and Toys for Tots, hosting both the Rust-Oleum Golf Championship last year and the first PGA Web.com Tournament at Ivanhoe and making the Club more inviting to families.
Ivanhoe Club is a full-service country club offering 27 holes of Arthur Hills championship golf, swimming, tennis and dining within a private gated community with over 200 homes, residence in which does not require a Club membership. Ivanhoe Club has a 67,000 sq. ft. clubhouse and approximately 250 golfing members, 100 social members and 50 dining-only members.
Ray is a graduate of Philadelphia College of the Performing Arts with a BM/BME and has been a guest speaker at the student sessions at previous CMAA Conferences, including the 2016 conference in San Diego. He has served on the Board of the Philadelphia & Vicinity Chapter of CMAA and has served on the CMAA Greater Chicago Club Managers Associations Board. Ray was formerly General Manager/COO at Waynesborough Country Club and White Manor Country Club and he was Assistant General Manager at Ashbourne Country Club. He and his wife, Leslie, have two children, Ashley and Devon.

Joe came to the Academy in 2012 after the Club suffered a devastating fire in 2011 and teetered on the verge of closing. His performance at the Club has been stellar as food and beverage annual sales have increased from $5.1 million in 2012 to $10.5 million in 2016. Under the leadership of Joe, the Board and many talented magician members, the Academy has been instrumental in making magic chic again in the entertainment world.
The Academy is truly one of the most unusual organizations in the world dedicated to “Introducing, Educating and Fostering the Art of Magic to the World.” The Club today has 2,700 magician members (1,900 non-resident) and 2,500 associate non-magician members. There is currently a 500-person waiting list of future members.
Joe is a graduate of San Jose State University and has previously served at the Virginia Country Club (Long Beach), American Legion Yacht Club and The Country Club of Rancho Bernardo. He and his wife Renae have twin 9-year-old boys, Jack and Noah.

The Yamaha Golf Car Company began manufacturing in the U.S. in 1988 at its Newnan, Georgia-based factory. Today, Yamaha employs over 1,700 workers and is one of the largest employers in Coweta County. Yamaha manufactures the most highly-engineered, highest-quality golf cars, personal transportation vehicles and utility vehicles in the industry.
In July 2016, Yamaha introduced its newest line, “The Drive 2,” in both gas and electric models. The highlight of the launch was Yamaha’s new QuieTech EFI, which combines the low maintenance and affordability of a gas car with the quietness of an electric car, as well as the first fully-independent rear suspension in a golf-car.
In addition to its QuieTech EFI, Yamaha also re-designed its AC, DC and Carbureted gas cars to include a new cradle-smooth suspension, ensuring the best ride in the industry. These innovations, along with a world-class sales team, are just a few of the many reasons why Yamaha has seen such a rapid growth in market share, which has more than doubled from 11% to 27% since 2006.
