Two different approaches

Project driven: Very active VLSI ASIC development group integrates an ESR into a challenging electronics development for an international detector project:

AGH has taken over the readout electronics development for the ILC LumiCal

Forward Calorimeter

Application driven: Cutting edge diamond detector application development seeks ER for a generation transfer of knowledge in high speed microwave analogue ASIC electronics from highly specialized expert to step down soon.

Proceed with the PADI diamond detector pixel readout multi channel ASIC

development by Mircea Ciobanu who will retire at the end of 2009.

Summary for ER engagement on WP11 at GSI

Deep fundamental technological research with important implications to detector system performance! pixelized diamond detectors for start and t0 (t < 30ps)

further broad applications with RPC TOF detectors

Pick-up and expand on Mircea Ciobanu´s first PADI 4 channel prototype before he leaves to Rumania for his pension. (Mircea is GSI´s in house Visiting Scientist)

Close interaction with a powerful analogue ASIC development group essential for persistance of this work and technology transfer. MC-Pad is a well matched vehicle!
