EXCLAMATION POINTS!THE INSIDE SCOOP STRAIGHT FROM THE TOP

Dear Pearlanders,

May brings lots of sunshine, flowers and excited kids as they get ready for the summer. But it’s also election time for two seats on Pearland’s City Council. The candidates running for Position Number 1 are Tony Carbone, Gary Moore and Quentin Wiltz, and for Position Number 5, candidates include incumbent Greg Hill, Yvonne Dubra and Mark Solano. The election is May 11th, and early voting starts April 29th and ends May 6th. Pearland City Council consists of five members elected at-large for three-year terms, so get out there, and cast your vote.

I recently learned at the Chamber of Commerce State of the City Luncheon that Pearland is now one of the prominent Lands of the Greater Houston area. The three cities that are considered Lands are Sugar Land, Pearland and The Woodlands. Pearland is no longer just a suburb; we are a vibrant, growing city in our own right. Many corporations are building here. Our retail growth is number one in Texas for three years in a row. We are considered a green city and are even designated as a bird sanctuary. Our crime is down, and our schools are outstanding. Pearland is a great city to live and raise a family.

And speaking of community, on to Pearland Focus – your community magazine. This issue, we have an exciting cover story about a local teen with a passion for performing and singing. He auditioned for American Idol and made it to Hollywood. Find out more about Sanni M’mairura’s journey and what he walked away with.

I hope you are enjoying our new Out and About in the Heart of Pearland. These pages feature pictures from different events and activities around town. If you would like to be included in our next issue, send me a high resolution photo complete with names of the individuals pictured, and we will do our best to publish it.

Remember, Pearland Focus is the voice of Pearland. When you have an event, invite us to it! If you have something going on with your business, send me a press release. We offer so many avenues for residents and business owners to share your information, many times free of charge. We are community focused, and we want to hear from you!

Happy spring, everyone!

Susie, You did the story on our work last December. I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate what

you did for us. I have not had a better article written, and I continue to get responses from it. In fact, a couple of people just the other day in March saw the article, referred to it and gave us a call. Thanks so much for what you did for us.

“I’m going in there with the mentality of getting that golden ticket and getting on that plane to Hollywood,” Sanni said right before he stepped into his auditions. And, he did just that, re-ceiving the coveted golden ticket to Hollywood.

He charmed the judges with his rendition of Michael Jack-son’s Who’s Loving You and got a “yes” from all four judges, making it to the first week of the Hollywood auditions. American Idol judge Nicki Minaj applauded Sanni for having a “great, well-orchestrated audition,” and judge Keith Urban liked his balance of humility and humbleness.

Once Sanni was told he was going to Hollywood, he said he felt mixed emotions. “On one side I was totally astonished that I was able to continue my journey on the show, and another side I felt determined to get further, and I realized the amount of hard work and practice I needed to do it.”

Sanni’s parents described the moment they learned their son was going to Hollywood as, “A mix of thrilling ecstasy, thank-fulness, expectation, uncertainty and shear confusion.” They weren’t nervous for him initially and thought it would be good for him to try the competition in order to learn from it. But, as he went through the earlier auditions, their nervousness grew. “By the time the Hollywood auditions arrived, we were nervous wrecks,” said Jasmine, Sanni’s mother.

Sanni got to meet the celebrity judges of American Idol: Mariah Carey, Randy Jackson, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban. “Getting to meet the judges was very dream-like; getting to shake hands and hold a conversation with them was amazing.”

Every American Idol contestant dreams of hearing that little phrase: “You’re going to Hollywood!” And, for Pearland native Sanni M’mairura, this dream came

true. Sixteen-year-old Sanni M’mairura put his dreams in action and auditioned for the current season of American Idol at the San Antonio auditions, which aired on January 31, 2013.

After making it to week one of the Hollywood audi-tions, Sanni made it past the first round of sudden death a cappella auditions and past round two, the group auditions. He was then eliminated in the third and final round, which consisted of solo performances with the band, and at which point 20 boys and 20 girls were selected to go on to the Las Vegas round.

Sanni described the Hollywood auditions as nerve racking, saying you could feel the tension everywhere you went. “Though it was one of the toughest things I have done so far, I grew from it, and it was a great experience. I think all of the competitors felt the same way.” He described Hollywood week overall as being gruesome. All of the time was spent practicing, and everyone had to stay up all night to get everything ready for the following day, leaving no time to relax at all. “We ate while practicing because there was no time, but again, with all of the stress and lack of sleep, it was still a great experience.”

Overall, Sanni felt that the auditions were tougher than they look. Many contestants are eliminated in the early rounds because the judges and producers are looking for the very best. “I feel lucky that I was able to get as far as I did considering the level of talent this season, but throughout the auditions, there was an in-credible feeling in the air. It was a great experience.”

Watching Sanni during the Hollywood auditions was just as difficult for his parents as it was for him. “The Hollywood week was grueling for everyone, but one that we will remember and treasure. It was a great learning experience for us, too. We got to meet Mariah, Nicki, Randy and Keith, along with all of the very talented competitors, some of whom have become Sanni’s friends,” Jasmine said.

Sanni has been singing for seven years, since the age of nine. He is a first generation Texan; Sanni’s parents came to the United States from Africa. His parents met in college, married and made Pearland home for Sanni and his younger brother, Biko.

Sanni attends Glenda Dawson High School and en-joys being part of a program at his church called The Noize, a ministry of Grace Community Church, which he has been part of since he was nine. The Noize is a song and dance movement used to inspire kids and spread the word of Jesus. Sanni is able to utilize both of his passions of singing and dancing with this pro-gram, while spreading a positive message to others.

Jasmine describes Sanni as being a very happy and jovial kid and said he always liked to entertain. “He enjoyed singing and dancing Michael Jackson songs especially. He would sing into a pencil, a stick, what-ever the microphone of the moment would be. He was never shy or fearful. He would just do it. Most of what Sanni knows about singing and performing, however, was taught to him at Grace Community Church as member of The Noize.”

Music, Moves and Ministry: The NoizeSanni M’mairura is a member of a group called The Noize, a ministry of

Grace Community Church that allows kids and students to use and grow their talents in a positive way through a Christ-centered program.

The Noize is used to inspire young people to make a difference for Jesus through hip-hop dance and high energy music with a message. The program encourages kids to be world changers through positive, up-beat song and dance routines. The Noize uses different events and programs to showcase their performances and ministers to young children and students around the area.

The Noize started in 2006 and has since performed at many venues around the Houston area including Pearland Town Center, The Wortham Cen-ter, Houston Rockets Halftime Shows, Kemah Boardwalk and Houston Dy-namo Halftime Shows. The Noize Academy currently has over 200 members in its various programs, and it continues to grow.

For more information about The Noize, visit www.thenoize.com.

Sanni’s parents have always known he liked to sing but did not realize just how passionate he was about sing-ing until he expressed interest in the American Idol competition. “As a child, Sanni always sang around the house. At about the age of three, he amazed us at how well he could sing the ‘Scooby Doo’ song. That’s when we knew he could sing.”

Sanni has dreams of teaching dance, as he is also a choreographer, as well as being a singer. But that’s not the only dream he has in mind. “My dream is to be a role model for kids who look up to celebrities, and I want to be a positive influence on them by motivating and showing people that whatever you put your mind to, with God, you can achieve it,” Sanni explained.

Having gone through this experi-ence, Sanni now gets a lot of attention from people who have watched his audition on American Idol, and he now has many more friends everywhere, especially on social media. “I have also had some attention from the media both local and international, including television, radio and blogs. One of my best moments is when I was covered on the Internet by World of Dance Weekly Episode 9.”

“This whole experience has taught me that I have a calling to be a per-former and to share my God given talent with the world,” Sanni said. As for now, his plans after American Idol include forging ahead with his dream. “I am just going to keep pursuing my dream. I want to tour widely and teach dance and choreography classes as I tour.” To others who want to follow their dreams, Sanni advises, “Have faith in what you want to do, whether it’s performing or anything else. Put all your confidence into it and never doubt what God can do for you.”

Follow Sanni’s progress as hepursues his dream on Twitter at@SaNniMmairura and on Facebook. He also has videos of his performances on his YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/MmairuraSaNni. Good luck Sanni! You make Pearland proud!

Natural disasters are inevitable, un-preventable and often come without

warning. No part of the world seems to be spared, whether it’s a hurricane, earthquake, tornado, drought or flood. Even though such catastrophes can’t always be predicted, their likely aftermaths often can, including property loss, power or water service disruption, scarcity of food and supplies or over-taxed relief organizations.

Superstorm Sandy was a powerful reminder of why it’s vital to develop a family disaster plan. By planning ahead and know-ing what you might need under dire circumstances, you can save yourselves a lot of time, money and grief.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) offers great suggestions for developing a family emergency plan, build-ing an emergency supply kit, and learning what to do before, dur-ing and after emergencies – even a plan for family pets ( www.fema.gov).

Once your physical safety has been assured, you’ll inevitably need to access important financial and legal records, whether to file insurance claims, apply for loans or simply withdraw cash. Taking these few steps now will make accessing such informa-tion much easier when the time comes:

Create a log of all account numbers, toll-free emergency num-bers, contact information and passwords for your bank and credit card accounts, loans, insurance policies, utilities and other impor-tant accounts. Update it regularly and save copies in secure, off-site locations such as a safety deposit box or with a trusted friend living in another area. You can also email the list to yourself in an encrypted, password-protected file, save it on a CD or USB drive, or use a cloud-based storage service like Dropbox that will let you access it from any Internet connection.

Make PDF copies of tax returns, insurance policies and legal documents and save offsite in the same manner as above, in case your files or computer are destroyed by fire or flood. Also make

digital copies of invaluable family photos, documents and memorabilia that money can’t replace.

Document your possessions. If you should ever need to file an insurance claim or claim a tax deduction for lost, stolen or dam-aged property, it’ll be much easier if you have an inventory of ev-erything you own – photos or videotape are even better. A few available tools:

• The IRS’ Casualty, Theft and Loss Workbook (IRS Publica-tion 584) includes a worksheet for cataloging and estimating the value of your possessions.

• The Insurance Information Institute maintains a free, se-cure online home inventory software application that lets you ac-cess your home inventory, anywhere, anytime ( www.iii.org).

• Your insurance company’s website likely contains a down-loadable inventory form.

Make sure you fully understand what is and isn’t covered by your insurance policies for natural disasters. You may need addi-tional coverage for damage associated with hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes and other weather conditions. Also:

• Document any damage with photos or video before you start cleanup or repairs.

• Keep track of expenses you incur to prevent further damage, for temporary housing or to move your possessions for safekeep-ing, as they may be reimbursable under your insurance claim.

• Don’t delay submitting your claim, since insurers often set-tle claims in the order filed.

FEMA provides information on how you might be able to get government assistance before, during and after a disaster at www.disasterassistance.gov.

Bottom line: Develop a family emergency plan now and make sure everyone knows what to do when disaster strikes.

Patients requiring surgery benefit from a state-of-the-art surgical suite, and a dedicated Breast Care Center delivers a coordinated approach to breast health with services for preventive care, early detection, accurate diagnosis, treatment and ongoing emotional support.

An Esophageal Disease Center offers Houston’s most complete care for diseases of the esophagus. And a Lung Nodule Clinic is equipped with the latest bronchoscopy technology to detect and treat lung cancer at earlier stages and in areas traditionally difficult to access.

“Regardless of the cancer or its complexity, our goal during treatment is to provide patients and families with the resources they need to give them the best possible chance at recovery,” said Fenton. “I’m here to make sure that happens – to remove any barriers, ensure timely access to high-quality care, provide education, and connect patients with resources in the community to help them cope.

World-Class Cancer Center Delivers Comprehensive Patient Care

and Support, Close to Home

L earning that you or a loved one has been diagnosed with cancer can bring about a wide range of emotions, from

denial and helplessness to anxiety and fear of the unknown. Enter Krystie Fenton, an

oncology nurse navigator at Memorial Hermann Cancer Center-Southeast who has devoted her career to supporting patients through all types and all stages of cancer – from diagnosis to survivorship.

“It takes a lot of courage to battle cancer,” explained Fenton, “which is why we are so committed to providing the resources, knowledge and confidence patients need to fight their condition – and win.”

Helping Patients Win

Fenton’s job begins as soon as a patient learns of a possible cancer diagnosis. “My first step is to assess their readiness to learn and help them understand about their particular condition so they can make the most informed decisions possible about their care,” she said.

She also assists with referrals to healthcare providers, support groups and community resources; insurance and financial issues; appointment scheduling; and, in some cases, transportation.

Comprehensive Cancer Care, Close to Home

“What really makes our program unique is that we are delivering a vast range of knowledge, expertise and support to patients right here in the community,” explained Fenton.

From routine cancer screenings to complex treatment, Memorial Hermann Cancer Center-Southeast brings together world-class skill, leading-edge technology and the most modern cancer care available to treat a broad range of conditions, including breast, esophageal, urologic, colorectal, gynecologic, head and neck, lung and thyroid cancers.

Accredited with commendation by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, and awarded its prestigious Outstanding Achievement Award, the Center offers a continuum of services to address the needs of patients in all stages of illness.

HOT SHOTHigh School

Haiyin Wang:A Bright Future In Chemistry

By Linda K. Eaves

D awson High School (DHS) student Haiyin Wang was a semifinalist in the Intel

Science Talent Search 2013, the nation’s oldest and most presti-gious pre-college science competi-tion. He received a $1,000 award and an additional $1,000 for DHS. “I was honored to be one of 300 semifinalists out of the 1,712 en-trants,” he said.

Haiyin’s research work: Synthe-sis of Novel Mononuclear Coinage Metal Complexes and Their Photo-luminescence Properties. Accord-ing to Haiyin, he “was inspired by my strong curiosity in chemistry as well as my deep interest in syn-thesis research, which leads to the creation of novel materials with fascinating new properties.”

His work holds the potential to be used as detectors for hazardous chemicals by luminescing when exposed to dangerous chemicals. “More likely, it holds the poten-tial to be used in new organic light emitting diode technology which is the thinnest and lightest display technology yet and is brighter than LED technology due to its ability to be multi-layered.”

“Aside from its commercial ap-peal, OLED technology consumes much less energy than modern LCD other displays, and its wide-

Haiyin has also overcome the challenge of time management in juggling many activities. “I’ve dis-covered how important it is to be able to portion my time out to dif-ferent interests.”

In addition to being involved in Future Problem Solving, National Honor Society and Student Coun-cil, Haiyin is also an independent violinist. He has performed local community service through the National Honor Society at both the Texas Children’s Hospital and Methodist Hospital. He is a volun-teer research assistant at the Texas Center for Superconductivity at the University of Houston, and he’s a volunteer assistant teacher at the Houston Shaolin Kung Fu Academy.

Haiyin plans to double major in chemical engineering or chem-istry and business in the Jerome Fisher Program for Management and Technology at the University of Pennsylvania. For a career, he hopes to combine his interest in sci-ence and business working in man-agement of technology firms such as DOW Chemical.

“Be proactive,” said Haiyin. “There are countless opportunities out there for people of all back-grounds in a variety of areas, and it’s really up to you to assert your-self to take advantage of them.”

Haiyinspread implementation may result in a dramatic reduction of energy consump-tion throughout the world. Its fascinat-ing flexibility holds the potential to jump start an entire branch of flexible display technology. This would allow for futuristic electronics such as print-able roll up displays and integrated displays in building walls or ceilings – or even clothes.”

“During my research project, I struggled specifically with the crystal-lization step where I had to deduce the novel structure I had synthesized in order to put it under the right condi-tions to obtain crystals to run tests on. Essentially, I had to guess and check the structure of my new material since it has previously been undiscovered, and the structure was something other than what I expected.”

“There are countless opportunities out there for peopleof all backgrounds in a variety of areas, and it’s really up toyou to assert yourself to take advantage of them.” – Haiyin Wang

St. Helen Catholic Church Holds 47th Annual Bazaar

The 47th Annual St. Helen Bazaar is scheduled for Sunday, June 9th on the church grounds at 2209 Old Alvin Road in Pearland. The all-day event begins at 11 am with a full barbeque dinner being served along with the opening of all the various games, booths and activities. In addition to the barbeque dinner that will be served from 11 am to 6 pm, there will be various diverse and ethnic food booths open throughout the day.

The St. Helen Bazaar has become a community event enjoyed by families not only from Pearland but also from across the Houston metropolitan area. Free shut-tle buses will provide transportation from the Pearland Independent School District parking lot by Pressner Stadium located at 2315 Old Alvin Road to the bazaar grounds.

At the time of the first bazaars in the 1960’s at St. Helen’s, the live auction was held under a large tent with bales of hay used as seating outside. Current bazaars now have the convenience of the covered Charlie Mack Pavillion with large ceiling fans to keep people comfortable during the live auction and their participation in the various games. There will be bingo in the air-conditioned Helena Hall along with a First Aid station. Other games and activities, for all age groups, will be avail-able throughout the day. The live auction begins at 1 pm and continues until all items are sold, which is usually around 8 pm. Items from past live auctions include such things as outdoor furniture, sporting events, jewelry, airline tickets and hunting trips.

While St. Helen Catholic Church serves more than 4,000 registered families in the parish, it provides many Christian servic-es and support to others in the Pearland community, such as Christian Helping Hands, Meals on Wheels, St. Vincent de Paul Society and Blood Drives throughout the year. For more information, call 281-485-2421.

Music of the HeartEcho Bridge

Two-time Academy Award winner Meryl Streep stars with Angela Bassett in a

heartwarming, acclaimed true story of how one woman’s musical gift affected those who least expected it. Roberta Guaspari (Streep) overcame the skepticism of everyone who didn’t think she should be teaching violin to students in a tough inner-city neighborhood. But even after a decade of ever-growing popularity and countless success stories, Roberta and her kids must rise to meet an even greater challenge as budget cuts aim at shutting down her valuable program for good. The film also stars Aidan Quinn and Grammy winner Gloria Estefan in a stellar cast. This extraordinary story will inspire anyone who has ever thought their dreams were too far out of reach.

P yramids Pharmacy strives to pro-vide customers with the best pos-

sible care for their pharmaceutical needs. Their compounding pharmacist can tailor medication to fit an individual’s unique needs, so patients get the most out of their medication therapy.

Everyone experiences some sort of pain in their lives. Uncontrolled pain prevents patients from working pro-ductively, enjoying recreation, or taking pleasure in their usual roles in the family and society. Every individual is unique, and the types of pain experienced can be equally diverse.

By working with a compounding phar-macist, a patient’s healthcare provider

can prescribe treatments tailored specifi-cally for their pain management needs. Topical and transdermal creams and gels can be formulated to provide high local concentrations at the site of application, for example NSAIDs for joint pain, and trigger point application, for example combinations of medications for neuro-pathic pain. Side effects associated with oral administration can often be avoided when medications are used topically in-cluding patients who cannot take certain medications due to gastro intestinal side effects. Working with their doctor, our pharmacist can provide them with topi-cal anti-inflammatory or analgesic.

Moreover, addiction to pain medica-

tions is serious concern for many chronic pain patients. By working closely with physicians, Pyramids Pharmacy can of-fer other alternatives to control pain. Also, Pyramids Pharmacy provides patient fo-cused comprehensive pharmacy services to long-term care and assisted living fa-cilities with bar coding systems for safe and accurate medicine dispensing and experienced medication administration. Our pharmacists specialize in medication packaging, including blister packs, unit dosages and multi-dose packages, and we also offer free overnight delivery.

O ne of the keys to managing pain is to actively engage in rehabilita-

tion and exercise. The ProActive team has the knowledge, skill and motivation to relieve your pain and get you back on track to recovery.

Why do you needPhysical Therapy?

Research shows the sooner patients get into physical therapy, the less likely they will need unnecessary tests, sur-gery or medication. We also treat children who have lower back pain, neck and shoulder issues from carrying heavy backpacks. The forward head position (FHP) involves cervical spine hyperex-tension, which can cause tension, fa-tigue and compressive forces within the posterior cervical region.

HOME FEATUREBy Caron Lopez

A fresh look for your home is the re-ward for investing time and effort

into the annual spring cleaning. If self-motivation is in short supply, borrow these ideas to get you started.

Start at the threshold and work toward the last room, and each day you will be greeted by a cleaner, fresher home.

Begin your spring cleaning at the ex-terior threshold that you pass through each day. Rid the area of old items. Clean or paint the door, and shine up the handles and glass. If the bottom of the door looks old, buy a kick plate; it’s easy to install will make your clean and polished door look like you bought a new one. A new mat and a colorful piece of pottery makes for an exciting entry.

De-clutter means less to clean and attention is drawn to a few, nice decorative pieces in the room.

Take away those dusty artificial flowers or trees. If shoes clutter the en-trance, place a small decorative chest in which to place them. Clean the grout and reseal it in this high traffic area. Brighten the sidelights with shutters, replacing the old sheers. Exchange tired art with a new piece of art to add pizzazz.

As you go from room to room, do not

get distracted with mail, memorabilia or items that belong in other areas. Do not stop to read or to sort. Make the most impact on the room as quickly as possible. Do the sit down type chores at a time when your feet are tired. Put the unsorted items in a basket, and deal with sorting later in the day. Purge the room of furniture, accesso-ries and books.

Starting at the highest point in each room means you won’t have to dust twice.

Dust each room top to bottom. If worn floors can’t be replaced, add a col-orful area rug to update the décor. Chic slip covers are used even on new furni-ture to shake things up a bit. When all is clean, accessorize with a throw, new decorative pillows, a flower arrange-ment or mirror.

Add your signature as you finish each room by adding a spark of color or an interesting accessory.

Collections are great accessories and need to be grouped. Top to bottom, purge, clean and dust. Now, add color.

Kids love to work with color. Let them select a theme and color for the room. Help your teen organize their space and energize it with color

As a designer, I see the master bed-room is the most neglected room. If you need to start over with new furniture, bedspread and window coverings, you are in the norm. Budget for a make-over, and for now, add some art or a lamp for ambiance or even an accent wall of fresh colorful paint.

Get squeaky clean in the bathroom. Baths can be the most relax-ing retreats. Think clean! Freshen up the grout, caulk, tile and glass. Achieve a sparkle. Fresh spring colors can be added in the towels, mats and soaps. With all of the clutter out of sight, add a vase with pretty spring flowers for a nice greeting as you get ready for the day and an interesting wall clock that fits your style. Take a look at new op-tions for window coverings such as glass block shutters or spa-like shades.

Spring has sprung! As you spring into action with spring cleaning, you will fall in love with your home again.

T he 2013 Dodge Durango is the kind of large crossover that looks more like a rugged SUV,

ready to take on the Piney Woods and then some. It still proudly bears tough styling that’s starting to disap-pear from the SUV landscape since more and more smoothly refined crossovers are starting to dominate the road. But don’t let the Durango’s looks deceive you; it also delivers a ride that is smooth and refined with an interior to match.

Now that car-based crossovers are all the rage, most vehicles in the category concentrate on delivering better fuel economy as opposed to off-road performance. Some cross-overs advertise suspensions that can go through mud, snow and sand with the turn of a dial, but if I were you, I would avoid those conditions

DODGE DURANGOas much as you can. Some looks can be deceiving. And, though I wouldn’t take the Durango to North Africa if I were planning to cross the Sahara, I would be more comfortable driving the ranch in the Durango than I would with some other large crossover.

The Durango is also at the head of its class when it comes to tow-ing regardless of the engine you de-cide to choose. For a starting MSRP of $29,495, you get the standard 290 hp, 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine which delivers EPA-estimated fuel economy of 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. Mated to the standard five speed transmission, the V6 is capable of towing 6,200 lbs. Want a Hemi? Then choose the 360 hp, 5.7-li-ter Hemi which combined with a six-speed automatic transmission gets you 13 mpg city/20 mpg highway and

can tow up to 7,400 pounds. If you’re willing to add

$10,000 to the base Durango, you can get the top-of-the-line Citadel which brings true luxury to this large SUV. This package includes 20-inch wheels, ven-tilated Nappa leather-trimmed front seats and heated front and rear seats, xenon head-

lights, chrome grille insert, a sunroof, a heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise control and a navigation sys-tem with UConnect 730N to help you stay connected while you are away from home.

As gas prices continue to escalate, Americans accelerate their migration to smaller, more fuel efficient vehi-cles. But Texans will always need the capability that only large SUVs can deliver so it’s a good thing that the good people at Dodge have done such a beautiful job with the 2013 Durango.

Houston’s FIRST Woman’s Hospital

It took Angela Griffin and her husband five years to conceive the first time around. So they were thrilled to learn they were expecting twins. But imagine their surprise when they discovered they were pregnant again. Again with twins, this time identical. Angela delivered all four girls – Charlotte, Avery, Addie and Harper – at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas. She found the care compassionate and the classes invaluable.

The Woman’s Hospital of Texas is the first hospital in Houston dedicated exclusively to the care of women and babies. With our outstanding facilities, physicians and staff, it’s no wonder we’ve earned the trust of moms like Angela.

Twins. Times two.
