THE POWER OF NETWORKING.

President and CEO of Cirque Du Soleil, Daniel Lamarre gave an inspiring keynote speech, sharing stories about the development of several of Cirque Du Soleil’s upcoming shows, as well as his approach to leadership and fostering a creative environment. He detailed the importance of networking, with a sprinkling of delightful anecdotes about Cirque Du Soleil’s Beatles show and how it all started at a party with George Harrison. He shared the story of approaching the Michael Jackson estate with regard to development of a groundbreaking show, as well as the story of how a last minute flight to LA to meet with James Cameron eventually lead to Cirque Du Soleil’s Avatar inspired current hit: TORUK - The First Flight.

The crowd was on their feet with President & CEO Philip White’s description of last year’s growth.

HISTORY LESSON. Henry Howard-Sneyd, Chairman, Asian Art for Europe & the Americas gave an enlightening speech about the history of Sotheby’s and had the audience captivated as he threaded tales of the auction house’s most fascinating transactions with Sotheby's pop culture references. Ever wonder exactly what a photo of President Kennedy sitting in a particular chair design does to the value for that piece? Hint. It’s a six figure increase.

GATHERINGS. Marketplace Sotheby’s owners and representatives were able to meet with partners, vendors, industry leaders, media, and colleagues from across the world.
