Marketing & Content Strategy Manager Job Description Date: November 2018 Location: Auckland Position Purpose The role of the Marketing & Content Strategist revolves around understanding NZ-ers motivations and behaviours towards money and how this intersects with communications and content. The key outcomes are to build out an integrated, future-focused, effective and influential behaviour change content programme across the CFFC’s ecosystem. The Marketing & Content Strategist must be in tune with content, technology and platform trends in relation to their influence and impact on our target audiences. This is a highly insights driven and creative role that will collaborate closely with in-house production team and oversee distribution and performance of marketing efforts. We’re looking for a talented, driven and passionate individual who wants to help NZ-ers to succeed financially and will put our audiences at the centre of everything we do to inspire, educate and drive the wellbeing through innovative storytelling and user experiences. • Close working relationship with Digital Channels team to utilise real-time and campaign based

learnings and develop best practice measurement and sharing across CFFC and Content Team

Reach and Engagement • Champion the content strategy across the brand and consumer ecosystem with clear

articulation on the role and weight of channels for distribution • Oversees the Customer Engagement Planner who is responsible for channel planning, calendar

development for reach, retention, acquisition across paid and owned channels – primarily social, search and email marketing

• Oversees Event Manager’s activities developed for stakeholders and consumer engagement • Leads planning for annual Money Week and other hero initiatives • Ensure alignment of activities across earned channels through collaboration with Media

Relations Manager, Managing Editor and Content producers • The Marketing and Content Manager ensures our engagement and reach approach is

constantly reviewed, and future focused, to deliver in an increasingly changing media landscape.

• Oversee Hubspot implementation (and other marketing automation activities) across channels Budget and KPI Management • Overall responsible for paid and owned budgets ensuring quarterly and annual metrics are

delivered alongside strategic vision and goals of CFFC. Leadership • This role will act as the primary 2iC to Head of Content and has day-day direct responsibility for

a team of 3-4 specialists as well as indirect leadership of the broader content teams creative output

• The individual must be able to operate and led through change with strategic agility and a lead by example attitude

Required Skills and Competencies Education The Marketing & Content Strategy Manager could hold a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Public Relations, Information Technology, or could just come with relevant experience and an interest in people and technology. Experience A suitable candidate will have had experience of over 10 years working in media, creative or digital agency environment or client-side marketing positions with experience across multiple communications channels preferably as a digitally oriented content strategist, communications strategist or engagement marketer. They will also have had experience in the management of a team, leading that team to successful accomplishment of its goals. The Marketing and Content Strategy Manager must be an individual who has had vast experience in working with insights and digital analytics providers. The ideal candidate will have the tenacity and drive to deliver an exceptional content plan on limited budget within a fluid framework. While the CFFC strategic deliverables remain the same, the way in which they are achieved must be done in an innovative and future focused way. At CFFC sometimes change is the status quo, as we work to deliver in a constantly moving landscape. Communication The candidate for this position must demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both in written and verbal form. The Marketing & Content Strategist will have a strong ability to engage and persuade varying audiences in plain English concisely. The Marketing & Content Strategy Manager must be able to engage people in a dynamic, engaging and inclusive way. Technological Savvy The candidate will additionally be highly knowledgeable on the best social media practices will have vast knowledge in the workings and navigation of key social media platforms as well as the competitive and regulatory landscapes of each of those platforms. Analytical Skills The incumbent will portray strong analytical skills, showing deep interest in research and analysis of CFFC content will have the ability to calculate ROI on every bit of content produced by CFFC. They will also possess the ability to interpret website, blog, and social media data in gauging success of CFFC’s content and campaigns and communicating meaningful results to the Retirement Commissioner and the Leadership Team. They will have an ability to transform raw information and data into intelligence, and that intelligence into action. MS Office/Software The Marketing & Content Strategy Manager must possess excellent IT skills and be able to create verbally and visually engaging content, reports, and presentations directed CFFC decision makers. They will also need to be proficient in certain software, which will aid in the creation of high-quality and engaging content. Interpersonal Skills The interpersonal skills that a candidate for this position must possess are; exceptional collaboration skills, having time consciousness and being able to finalise projects within given time-frames, exceptional organisation and multitasking skills, having an ability to prioritise tasks, being commercially driven with a desire to increase stakeholder engagement/awareness through great content output. People Skills The position being highly interactive, demands a highly relatable individual with the ability to engage easily with people and build strong and long-lasting relationships. They must quickly build trust and rapport with their team and not shy away from healthy tensions within the organisation.
