LEVEL 1 Energy Audit :Enhanced BDR ReportLevel-1 audit is intended to help the energy team understand where the building performs relative to its peers; establish a baseline for measuring improvements; and decide whether further evaluation is warranted.

LEVEL 2 Energy Audit: BEPA (Building Energy Performance Assessment)Level-2 projects build on the ndings of the Level-1 audit and evaluate building energy systems in detail to dene a variety of potential energy-eciency improvements. The Level-2 also will outline the range of potential nancial incentives available from Federal, State, Local, and Utility sources.

LEVEL 3 Energy Audit: ModelingShould the Level 2 Audit reveal necessary system upgrades or retrots, the Level 3 audit will provide clients a thorough and detailed understanding of the benets, costs and performance expectations prior to making signicant investments of capital and personnel.

The Level-3 audit focuses on a “whole-building computer simula-tion”, where a computer program is used to accurately model the way the brick-and-mortar building would respond to changes in the energy systems and whether those are major HVAC retrots or archi-tectural modications to walls, windows, and roof.

Not only did I create the layout for this sell sheet, but I also created the concept and wrote the copy. This was created to highlight a new service line. This was used to educate both the sales team and potential clients.

This was a print newsletter for the St. Francis Sailing Foundation, a prominent foundation in support of competitive sailors primarily funded by the St. Francis Yacht Club, that is sent to their list of supporters to give them an update and drive donations. I created the template, collected the content, did extensive editing to the copy, and also created a complimentary email template for quarterly email blasts. I worked with the printer and mailing house as well. This piece is 11x17, folded horizontally and then vertically for mailing.

McBride/Wilson continued

They’ve asked themselves ‘How do we connect with more people? How can we engage with a broader

network and tell our story?’ The website was part of their answer.

Through one of its grants, the St. Francis Yacht

Club Foundation gave Dane and Willie some of

those productive hours on the water. The team

first heard about the Foundation when they were

students at Berkeley. Many of the teams they ad-

mired had been supported by the Foundation, so they

submitted their application. The $1,000 grant helped

the team get to the Worlds. Their next hurdle is to get

to Miami, and then on to the European circuit this

spring and summer. With a team like Dane and Willie,

supported by some of the finest sailors and business people in the Bay Area, there’s no question that

they are poised for success.

Caleb Paine is on fire! Currently ranked 1st in the country and 5th in the

world, Caleb’s notable finishes this year include 1st at Finn North Amer-

icans, 5th at Sailing World Cup Hyeres, 7th at the ISAF Sailing World

Championship in Santander and 3rd at the ISAF Sailing World Cup Final

Abu Dhabi. Caleb attributes part of this success to Bill Kreysler and the

St. Francis Yacht Club Foundation

Caleb has been sailing his entire life and started racing at the age of 7.

After finishing high school, Caleb decided to put college on hold so he

could pursue his lifelong dream of winning an Olympic gold medal. He

bought himself a Finn and began competing full time in 2009. In 2011,

he joined the US Sailing Team Sperry Top-Sider and has since been

climbing the world ranking in preparation toward his goal.

The most challenging aspect of Caleb’s quest for the

gold has been financial resources. It took him 5 years

to get a new mast and boat made to his specifica-

tions. Last year, with Bill Kreysler’s help and financial

assistance from the Foundation, Caleb has had more

resources to refine his equipment and spend more

time sailing in Rio and other parts of the world to

hone his skills. And the results have been spectacular.

To learn more about Caleb and his quest for the gold, visit his website at www.medalinrio.com and

like his Facebook page, Caleb Paine Olympic Campaign at www.facebook.com/medalinrio.

Nearly $100,000 Raised to Support Youth Sailing at the

Bootlegger’s Ball, held on October 11, 2014 aboard Acania,

the famous Prohibition-era yacht rumored to have been

owned at one time by Al Capone.

This “must attend” event, according to St. Francis

member Doug Thorne, featured a speakeasy bar with drinks

sponsored by Anchor Steam Distillery, a world-class

performance by Marianne Kent and amazing food and drinks.

The guests, adorned in flapper dresses, pinstripe suits and

other Prohibition-era apparel, got an up-close and personal

look at the beautifully restored yacht with the owner, Dave

Olsen, giving tours of the vessel for the guests throughout the

evening. The 136-foot Acania has an illustrious history and

a Who’s Who cast of characters associated with her. Not only was Chicago mobster Al Capone an “unlisted” owner, but

pharmaceutical heir Charles Walgreen, jazz legend Miles Davis, and the United States government are also on the list of

previous owners.

Rediscovered in a semi-derelict condition by Miles Davis in 1995, the legendary yacht has been lovingly restored to her

Prohibition-era glory by current owners Dave and Lynn Olson. “The highlight of the evening was being onboard this

historic vessel and seeing the restoration up-close. There was beauty everywhere,” commented Jason Holloway, who

attended the event.

“Through the largess of Dave and Lynn Olson, the

Foundation was able to offer generous donors an evening

on one of the most spectacular classic motor yachts in the

US and beyond. The money raised from the Bootlegger’s

Ball was very important in achieving the Foundation’s two-

pronged mission of developing competitive sailors, including

Olympians; and community outreach,” said Carolyn Patrick,

President of the St. Francis Sailing Foundation. The event

was a great example of the one-of-a-kind opportunities that

attendees will get at the upcoming annual Night with the Stars

Foundation Auction. We hope you will join us on March 17,

2015 for this very special event.

The funds we raise support young sailors just beginning

their sailing careers, competitive sailors as they advance,

and elite sailors seeking world-class competition. The St.

Francis Yacht Club Foundation also assists with various

programs that introduce sailing to students, under-served

youth, and individuals who face physical challenges; Treasure

Island Sailing Center and BAADS are examples of programs we

support. Giving to the Foundation is a personal commitment to

growing the sport of sailing. To make a year-end donation go to:

OUR MISSION

The St. Francis Sailing Foundation provides support to young sailors just

elite sailors seeking world class competition. Additionally, we assist various

programs that introduce sailing to students, underserved youth, and

individuals who face physical challenges. To donate: www.stfsf.org

They call it a campaign for a reason. Not only does it take world-class sailing to be selected for one of

the coveted US Sailing Team spots for Rio de Janeiro in 2016. You also have to manage the business

of the campaign. The fundraising, the networking - and the sailing.

Dane Wilson and Willie McBride realized this from the start. “We both

come from backgrounds of having done a lot of international sailing on

the junior level, and professional sailing as well”, said McBride. “The

sailing part we feel comfortable with. Our experiences in junior sailing

have given us a background to help us get to the top of a fleet. We know

how to take lessons away from our time on the water.” The obstacle they

faced, and what the St. Francis Yacht Club Sailing Foundation helped

them overcome, is actually getting out on the water.

What Dane and Willie have had to adjust to is what Willie refers to as “the complete challenge” of an

Olympic campaign. “The thing that makes Olympic sailing a special challenge is that you can’t just be

good at sailing. You need to organize a campaign that incorporates fundraising, team building and

networking in and outside of your team. So the net result you are looking for is that you get to spend

more productive time out there on the water.”

So the Wilson/McBride Team set out broaden their network and tell a story. They launched their

campaign website, www.fromwhencewecame.org. “We’ve had a lot of mentors along the way - not

only in sailing but also in how to put our campaign together.” c

This was a postcard that was direct mailed to all licensed cosmetologists in San Francisco as a way to prospect for potential tenants. We wanted to highlight the freedom that Sola was able to provide in the way of salon ownership. I photographed the subjects, wrote the copy, designed the postcard, had it professionally printed and mailed, and then fielded the phone calls and led the tours, which culminated in several stylists signing with us.

With the goal of making a splash at a major industry trade show in San Diego, we brain-stormed and came up with the idea of sponsoring pedicabs around the conference center. Not only did I create the artwork and work with the signage company to ensure the highest quality reproduction, but I promoted the presence of the pedicabs through email marketing and social media. Additionally, I collected leads in the form of pedicab passengers and followed up via email blasts and the assignment of warm leads to our sales team.

The Norway Day Festival is the largest purely Norwegian cultural event in the country, and I was the Event Director for three years, before the organization decided to take a break to raise more funds. One of the things the festival had not had before was a clear map showing where the vendors, attractions, food and beverage were located in the 50,000 square foot Festival Hall at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco. I created this map as an 11x17 insert in the festival program.
