Electrical Shock Hazard Plug unit only into grounded electrical

If the air conditioner has a serial platerating of 115 volts and greater than7.5 amps it must have its own fuse orcircuit breaker, and no other deviceor unit should be operated on thatfuse or circuit breaker. If the airconditioner has a serial plate rating of230 volts it must have its own fuse orcircuit breaker, and no other deviceor unit should be operated on thatfuse or circuit breaker.

We recommend that a qualifiedelectrician install unit in accordancewith the National Electrical Code andlocal codes and ordinances.

Do not operate this air conditionerwithout proper time delay circuitprotection. Refer to serial plate forproper power supply requirements.

Use copper conductors of correct wiregauge and protector size only.

Do not alter cord or plug end. Do notremove warning label on cord.

Important GroundingRequirements Air conditioner has a three-prong

grounding plug on the power supplycord, which must be plugged into aproperly grounded three-prong wallreceptacle for your protection againstpossible shock hazard. For models upto and including 7.5 amperes use agrounding type wall receptacle tomatch the cord plug.

For models above 7.5 amperes use asingle outlet grounding type wallreceptacle to match the cord plug.

Additional Safety Precautions Do not cut, alter or remove any of the

expanded polystyrene (white foam)inside this air conditioner.

Do not store or use gasoline or otherflammable vapors and liquids in thevicinity of this or any other appliance.The fumes can create a fire hazardor explosion.

Do not introduce objects in the airdischarge area. This could causepermanent damage to your unit.

Do not pour liquids on the airconditioner as this could cause amalfunction. With the unit unplugged,use a damp cloth for cleaning yourunit.

Avoid using strong solvents to cleanthe air conditioner.

Clean the air conditioner filter everytwo weeks to avoid overheatingcaused by air obstruction. Do notoperate without filter.

Do not obstruct the air intake area ofyour air conditioner, as this couldcause overheating, thus activatingthe units security switch and shuttingoff the unit.

Do not block air circulation to outsidelouvers of cabinet.

Do not block air flow inside withblinds, curtains, or furniture, oroutside with shrubs, enclosures, orother buildings.

Do not run the air conditioner with anoutside protective cover in place.This could result in fire or mechanicaldamage within the air conditioner.

Make sure unit is unplugged beforeremoving the decorative front.

It is recommended that youhave help to install your unitand that you use proper liftingtechnique to avoid personalinjury.

Removing the Chassis

1. Remove the two (2) shippingscrews from the rear bottom sideof the cabinet. These shippingscrews may be discarded.

2. Remove the two (2) antitheftscrews from the bottom front sidesof the cabinet. RETAIN THESESCREWS, they will be replacedlater in the installation.

3. Slide the chassis out of the cabinetby grasping the base pan handleand pulling forward while bracingthe top bar.

1. Remove the 3/8 phillips screws oneither side of the cabinet

Cleaning the Air Filter Clean the filter every two weeks

1. Turn Master Control to OFF.2. Remove the air filter by opening the

air intake panel on the decorativefront and pull it out of the unit.

3. Wash in hot soapy water, rinse andshake dry.

4. Replace the filter, with the front ofthe filter toward you.

5. To dry the filter thoroughly, run yourunit for a few minutes. Remember,only a clean filter works properlyand delivers top efficiency at everysetting.

Note: Failure to keep air filter clean willresult in poor air circulation.DO NOT operate without filter. This canrender the unit inoperative.

Proper use and care of your airconditioner will help ensure longer life ofthe unit. It is recommended to annuallyinspect and clean the coils andcondensate water passages. Expense ofannual inspection is the consumersresponsibility.

3. Install the finished frame in the wallopening square and level, nail orscrew it securely to the wall andplace the cabinet into the framedwall opening.

4. Make sure cabinet projects into theroomside of the wall 1 1/4 at thetop and 1 1/2 at the bottom toensure proper tilt and access to theanti-theft screw, then fasten cabinetto the frame by drilling twelve (12) 1wood screws (not supplied) throughthe cabinet and into the frame. (Fig.1 &2)

If installation is made in a buildingwith brick veneer construction, asteel angle lintel must be used tosupport the bricks above thecabinet.(Fig.3)

5. Install a 3/4 X 1 1/2 wood fillerstrip between the bottom bar andthe interior, caulk both top andbottom of this strip. After cabinet isinstalled caulk all openings, insideand outside between finish frameand cabinet to prevent moisturefrom getting to the interior of thewall. Use of flashing (driprail) willfurther prevent water from drippinginside the wall.

6. Install chassis into cabinet.

Through-the-wall Installation

This air conditioner is designed as aslide-out type chassis, making it possibleto install it through-the-wall in bothexisting and new construction. Werecommend that this type of installationbe performed with professionalassistance.

IMPORTANT: This appliance must beinstalled according to all applicableelectrical and building codes andordinances.

It is recommended that you have helpto install your unit and that you useproper lifting technique to avoidpersonal injury.

It is important that you inspect thecondition of the wall where the airconditioner will be installed.

Be sure the wall can support theweight of the unit.

All cabinet louvers MUST BE on theoutdoor side of the wall. DO NOTBLOCK SIDE LOUVERS.

The cabinet must be installed levelfrom side-to-side and with a downwardtilt from inside to outside.

1. First remove the Decorative frontpanel and chassis from the cabinet,then remove top bar from thecabinet.

2. Determine the size of the openingfor a wood frame by adding 1/8 tothe width and height of the cabinet.Measure height from top of cabinetto bottom of bar. Add thismeasurement to the thickness ofwood used to build the frame. Thiswill determine the size of wallopening needed. Minimum 1 thicklumber is recommended whenbuilding the frame. Whendetermining finish frame thickness,be sure not to cover side louvers onthe cabinet.

Do not obstruct the air intake areaof your air conditioner, as this couldcause overheating, thus activatingthe units security switch andshutting off the unit. Do not blockaiflow inside with blinds, curtains,or furniture. Do not block airflowoutside with shrubs, enclosures, orother buildings.

Do not drill a hole in the bottompan. Unit is designed to operatewith approximately 1/2 of waterin bottom pan.

Installing the Chassis into theCabinet

1. Slide the chassis into thecabinet.

2. Replace the two antitheft screwsat the bottom front sides ofcabinet.

3. To replace the decorative front,line up the top tabs and andsides, and gently press intoposition. Reattach the screws onboth sides of the decorativefront. Make sure the power cordaligns with the power cord sloton the bottom of the decorativefront. Make sure the decorativefront is secure beforereconnecting the plug andoperating the unit.

4. Cut plastic foam seal to width ofwindow and install betweenupper and lower window sash.

5. Use latex or silicone sealant (notsupplied) to fill any minor openings.

Operation

Power ControlThe Power Control turns the unit on and off.

Set Temperature/ Timer DisplayShows the set temperature when the unit is inoperation and hours when the timer is beingset. THE TEMPERATURE DISPLAY ONLYSHOWS THE SET TEMPERATURE, NOTTHE ACTUAL ROOM TEMPERATURE.

Temperature/ Timer ControlsThese buttons are used to raise or lower theset temperature in increments of 1 from 66Fto 88F. By depressing both buttons at once,the display will toggle between Celsius andFahrenheit. When the timer is being set, thesebuttons are used to change the hour setting inincrements of 1 from 00 to 24.

Mode ControlA green light will indicate which mode iscurrently being utilized.

Cool Mode The unit will circulate and cool the air.

Heat Mode (Heat Models Only) The unit will circulate and heat the air.

Heater Safety Feature- When heater is poweredoff, low fan will automatically stay on and run for 60seconds to ensure the removal of residual heat,meanwhile, the Low Fan LED blinks until the lowfan stops.

Fan Mode The unit will only circulate the air.

Energy Saver Mode (The energy saver mode is designed tooperate with Cool mode only). The fan willswitch from the set fan speed to Lowwhenever the compressor turns off inresponse to the thermostat. When thecompressor cycles back on, the unit will returnto the original fan setting. Speeds will changeautomatically as the temperature in the roomchanges.

Electronic Control (Cooling Only)Fan Speed Control - High,Medium, Low and Auto

The settings are adjusted with the Fan SpeedControl, each time the button is depressed itchanges the setting. A green light will indicatewhich setting is currently being used.

When the Auto feature is selected while the airconditioner is in the Cool or Heat mode, thefan speeds will change automatically as thetemperature in the room changes. In CoolMode when the room reaches 7 or moreabove the set temperature High Fan will beused, 4 or less above the set temperaturewill use Low fan. In Heat Mode when the roomreaches 7 or more below the set temperatureHigh fan will be used, 4 or less below the settemperature will use Low fan. At all other timesthe fan will use Medium fan.

To automatically START the unit using theTimer mode:

1. Push the timer button while the power isOFF. The display will read 00. Adjust thedisplay to show the desired number ofhours before START-UP using theTemperature/Timer adjustment arrows.

2. The display will show the amount oftime, in hours, remaining until START-UP.

3. To exit Timer mode, push the Timerbutton.

4. A green light next to the Timer buttonindicates that the timer is set.

To automatically SHUT-DOWN the unitusing the Timer mode:

1. Push the timer button while the power isON. The display will read 00. Adjust thedisplay to show the desired number ofhours before SHUT-DOWN using theTemperature/Timer adjustment arrows.(The display will automatically return tothe set temperature after 10 seconds.)

2. To display the amount of time left untilSHUT-DOWN, push the Timer button once.

3. To exit Timer mode, push the Timer button twice.

4. A green light next to the Timer buttonindicates that the timer is set.

Troubleshooting

The functions work the same as your air conditioners touch controls.Batteries: Remove the cover on the back of the remote controller and insert the batteries with the (+) and (-) poles pointingin the proper direction.

"!CAUTION Use only AAA or IEC R03 1.5V batteries.

Remove the batteries if the remote controller is not used for amonth or longer.

Do not attempt to recharge the supplied batteries

All batteries should be replaced at the same time.

Do not dispose of the batteries in a fire as they may explode.

Do not mix old and new batteries.

Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon - zinc), or rechargeable(nickle-cadmium) batteries.

Keep batteries and other objects that could be swallowed awayfrom young children.Contact a doctor immediately if an object is swallowed.

Instrucciones importantes de seguridad

Riesgo de Choque Elctrico

Conecte el aparato solamente en untomacorriente elctrico puesto a tierra.

Requerimientos Importantes para laPuesta a Tierra

El cordn de alimentacin del aireacondicionado tiene un enchufe de tresclavijas con puesta a tierra el cual debeser enchufado en un tomacorriente muralpuesto a tierra de tres alvolos para suproteccin contra posible riesgo dechoque elctrico. Para los modelos dehasta 7,5 amperes o menos, use untomacorriente mural del tipo con puesta atierra que tenga la misma configuracinque el enchufe del cordn dealimentacin.

Para los modelos de ms de 7,5 amperes,use un tomacorriente mural sencillo conpuesta a tierra que tenga la mismaconfiguracin que el enchufe del cordnde alimentacin.

Precauciones de Seguridad Adicionales

No corte, modifique ni retire ningnpedazo de poliestireno expandido(espuma blanca) situado dentro de esteaire acondicionado.

No guarde ni use gasolina u otros vaporesy lquidos inflamables en la vecindad deeste o cualquier otro artefacto. Losvapores emitidos pueden crear un riesgode incendio o explosin.

Limpie el filtro del aire acondicionado cadados semanas para evitarsobrecalentamiento causado porobstruccin del aire.

No obstruya el rea de entrada del aire desu equipo, pues esto puede causarsobrecalentamiento, lo cual activar elinterruptor de seguridad y apagar elaparato.

No bloquee la circulacin del aire hacialas rejillas de ventilacin exteriores delgabinete.

No obstruya el flujo del aire hacia elinterior con persianas, cortinas o muebleso hacia el exterior con arbustos, recintos uotros edificios.

No haga funcionar el aire acondicionadoteniendo instalada la cubierta protectoraexterior. Esto podra resultar en daomecnico dentro del aire acondicionado.

3. Instale el marco terminado en lacavidad mural de manera que quedea escuadra y nivelado, luego clvelo oatornllelo firmemente en la pared eintroduzca el gabinete en la cavidadmural ya preparada con el marco.

4. Asegrese de que el gabinetesobresalga de la pared 1-1/4 en laparte superior y 1-1/4 en la parteinferior hacia la habitacin paraasegurar una inclinacin adecuada yacceso al tornillo antirrobo, luegoasegure el gabinete en el marcoinstalando doce (12) tornillos demadera de 1 (no suministrados) atravs de los agujeros taladrados enel gabinete y hacia el marco.

Si el equipo se instala en un muroenchapado de ladrillo se debe usarun dintel angular de acero parasostener los ladrillos que estnarriba del gabinete.

5. Una vez que se haya instalado elgabinete obture todas las aberturas enel interior y exterior entre el marcoacabado y el gabinete para evitar quela humedad penetre al interior de lapared. El uso de un guardaaguas(vierteaguas) ayudar tambin aevitar que el agua gotee dentro de lapared.

6. Instale el chasis en el gabinete.

Instalacin Empotrado en la ParedEste aire acondicionado ha sidodiseado como un chasis deslizable,haciendo que sea posible su instalacinempotrado en la pared, tanto en murosde construccin antigua como moderna.Recomendamos que este tipo deinstalacin sea realizado con ayudaprofesional.

IMPORTANTE: Este aparato debe serinstalado de acuerdo con todos loscdigos y reglamentos elctricos y deconstruccin aplicables.

Se recomienda que usted soliciteayuda para instalar el aparato y queuse una tcnica de alzamientoadecuado para evitar lesin personal.

Es importante que usted inspeccioneel estado de la pared donde seinstalar el aire acondicionado.

Asegrese de que la pared puedasoportar el peso del aireacondicionado.

Todas las rejillas de ventilacin delgabinete DEBEN QUEDAR hacia ellado exterior de la pared. NOBLOQUEE LAS REJILLAS DEVENTILACION LATERALES.

El gabinete debe ser instalado demodo que quede nivelado de lado alado y con una ligera inclinacin haciaabajo desde el interior al exterior.

1. Retire primero el panel decorativodelantero y el chasis del gabinete.Retire la barra superior del gabinete.

2. Determine el tamao de la aberturapara construir un marco de maderaagregando 1/8 al ancho y a la alturadel gabinete. Mida la altura desde laparte superior del gabinete hasta labarra inferior. Agregue esta medidasal grosor de la madera usada paraconstruir el marco. Esto determinarel tamao necesario de la cavidad enla pared. El marco debe construirseusando madera de por lo menos 1 deespesor. Cuando se determine elgrosor del marco acabado, asegresede que este no cubra las rejillas deventilacin laterales del gabinete.

Instalacin del Chasis en el Gabinete1. Deslice el chasis hacia el interior del

gabinete.

2. Para reinstalar el panel decorativodelantero, colquelo en su lugar yempjelo hacia atrs hacia elacondicionador hasta que entre apresin en su lugar. Vuelva ainstalar el tornillo de retn detrs delpanel de entrada del aire.

3. Reinstale los dos tornillos antirroboen los lados delanteros inferiores delgabinete.

4. Corte un relleno de espuma deplstico del ancho de la ventana einstlelo entre la hoja mvil superiore inferior de la ventana.

5. Use compuesto obturador parallenar cualquier abertura mspequea.

Funcionamiento

Control de AlimentacinEste botn pone en marcha y apaga el aire acondicionado.

Indicador de Temperatura de Ajuste/TemporizadorEl indicador muestra la temperatura de ajuste cuando el aire acondicionado esten funcionamiento y las horas cuando se ha activado el temporizador. ELINDICADOR DE LA TEMPERATURA SOLAMENTE MUESTRA LATEMPERATURA DE AJUSTE, NO LA TEMPERATURA AMBIENTE REAL.

Control de la Temperatura/ TemporizadorEstos botones se usan para aumentar o reducir la temperatura de ajuste enincrementos de 1, entre 66F hasta 88F. Si se oprimen simultneamenteambos botones, el indicador digital cambiar entre grados Celsius y Fahrenheit.Cuando se activa el temporizador, estos botones son usados para cambiar elajuste de la hora en incrementos de 1, entre 00 hasta 24.

Selector de Modo Una luz verde indicar el modo que est siendo utilizado.

Modo Cool (Fro) El aire acondicionado circula y enfra el aire.Modo Heat (Calor) [Solamente los Modelos con CalefaccinEl aire acondicionado circula y calienta el aire.

Caracterstica de Seguridad del Calentador Cuando el calentador est apagado, elventilador de baja velocidad se activar y funcionar durante 60 segundos paraasegurar la eliminacin de algn calor residual, a la vez que el diodo LED Low Fan(ventilador de baja velocidad) destella hasta que se detenga el ventilador de bajavelocidad.Modo Fan (Ventilador) El aire acondicionado solamente har circular el aire.Modo Energy Saver(Ahorro de Energa)(El modo de ahorro de energa est diseado para funcionar solamente con el modoCool). El ventilador cambiar de la velocidad de ajuste a velocidad baja cuando elcompresor sea apagado por el termostato. Cuando el compresor se activa nuevamente,el ventilador volver al ajuste original. La velocidad del ventilador cambiaautomticamente segn cambie la temperatura en la habitacin.

Funcionamiento

Control de la Velocidad delVentilador Alta, Mediana, Baja yAutomtica

El ajuste de la velocidad del ventilador secambia cada vez que se oprime el botnde control de velocidad del ventilador.Una luz verde indicar el ajuste que seha seleccionado.

Cuando se selecciona Auto(Automtico) y el aire acondicionado esten el modo Cool o Heat, la velocidaddel ventilador cambiar automticamentea medida que cambie la temperatura enla habitacin. En el modo Cool, cuandola habitacin llega a 7 o ms, sobre latemperatura de ajuste, se usa High Fan(Alta Velocidad), cuando la temperaturaen la habitacin es de 4 o menos, sobrela temperatura de ajuste, se usa LowFan (Velocidad Baja). En el modo Heatcuando la habitacin alcanza 7 o ms,bajo la temperatura de ajuste, se usa'High Fan', cuando la habitacin alcance4 o menos, bajo la temperatura deajuste, se usa 'Low Fan'. En todos losotros casos el ventilador usa 'MediumFan' (velocidad mediana).

Para PONER EN MARCHAautomticamente el aireacondicionado usando el modoTimer:

1. Oprima el botn Timer cuando laalimentacin elctrica estdesconectada. El indicadormostrar 00. Ajuste el indicadorpara que muestre el nmero dehoras que desea que transcurranantes de la PUESTA EN MARCHA,usando las flechas de ajusteTemperature/Timer(Temperatura/Temporizador).

2. El indicador mostrar la cantidad dehoras que faltan para la PUESTAEN MARCHA.

3. Para salir del modo Timer, oprimael botn Timer.

4. Una luz verde situada junto al botnTimer se iluminar para indicar queel Timer est activado.

Para APAGAR automticamente elaire acondicionado usando el modoTimer:

1. Oprima el botn Timer cuando laalimentacin elctrica estconectada. El indicador mostrar00. Ajuste el indicador para quemuestre el nmero de horas quedesea que transcurran antes de quese APAGUE usando las flechas deajuste Temperature/Timer(Tempera tu ra /Tempor i zador ) .(Despus de 10 segundos, elindicador volver automticamentea la temperatura de ajuste.)

2. Para ver la cantidad de horas quefaltan para que se APAGUE el aireacondicionado, oprima una vez elbotn Timer.

3. Para salir del modo Timer, oprimael botn Timer dos veces.

4. Una luz verde situada junto al botnTimer se iluminar para indicar queel Timer est activado.

Limpieza del Filtro del AireLimpie el filtro cada dos semanas

1. Gire el control maestro a OFF'(Apagado).

2. Retire el filtro del aire abriendo elpanel de entrada del aire situado enel panel decorativo delantero ysacndolo fuera del aireacondicionado.

3. Lvelo en agua con jabn,enjuague y sacdalo para secarlo.

4. Vuelva a colocar el filtro con laparte delantera del filtro dirigidahacia usted.

5. Para secar bien el filtro, hagafuncionar el aire acondicionadodurante unos pocos minutos.Recuerde: solamente un filtro limpiopuede proporcionar eficiencia yfuncionar de manera correcta entodos los ajustes.

Nota: Si no se mantiene el filtro del aire limpiopuede causar circulacin deficiente del aire.NO haga funcionar el aire acondicionado sin elfiltro. Esto puede impedir que el aireacondicionado funcione.

El uso y cuidado adecuado de su aireacondicionado le asegurar una vida tilprolongada. Se recomienda que inspeccioneanualmente y limpie las espirales y los pasajesdel agua del condensado. El costo de lainspeccin anual es responsabilidad delpropietario.

Soluciones Inserte bien el enchufe en el tomacorriente mural. Reemplace el fusible con un tipo de fusible con retardo o reponga

el disyuntor. Cambie el interruptor principal a la posicin ON (ENCENDIDO).

Espere aproximadamente 3 minutos. Escuche si el compresorempieza a funcionar.

Si el aire acondicionado est apagado espere 3 minutos antes devolver a encenderlo.

Cambie el termostato a un ajuste ms alto para enfriamiento.

Coloque el selector en un ajuste COOL (Fro). Coloque el termostato en una temperatura ms fra. No se producir enfriamiento hasta que la temperatura de la

habitacin no sea superior a 70F.

Para descongelar la espiral, coloque el selector en la posicinFAN (Ventilador). Luego coloque el termostato en una posicinms caliente.

Limpie el filtro, vea la seccin Limpieza del Filtro del Aire. Paradescongelar, coloque el selector en la posicin FAN (Ventilador).

Para descongelar la espiral, coloque el selector en la posicinFAN (Ventilador). Luego coloque el termostato en una posicinnormal.

Limpie el filtro del aire. Consulte la seccin Limpieza del Filtrodel Aire.

Coloque el termostato en un ajuste ms fro. Coloque el selector de velocidad del ventilador en HI (ALTO) para

enfriamiento mximo. El sonido del aire movindose es normal. Si es demasiado fuerte,

gire el selector a un ajuste del ventilador ms bajo. Esto es normal cuando la humedad es alta. Cierre las puertas,

ventanas y rejillas de ventilacin. Consulte las instrucciones de instalacin consulte con el

instalador.

Incline ligeramente el aire acondicionado hacia el exterior paraeliminar el agua. Consulte las instrucciones de instalacin verifique con el instalador.
