  • 1. Manipulation Of Photographs.

2. Manipulating Photographs - Coverfile:///mnt/temp/Pictures/new/DSCF1749.JPG On the left is my chosen image for the front cover. For the main image on the cover of my magazine, I did not manipulate anything. The reason I did not manipulate this photograph is based on my imagealready having the correct lighting and camera angles. I did not need to edit anything based on what my artists are wearing or doing. Although the artist on the left stands out more so to the artist on the right. The girl on the left overall hasbrighter hair, brighter clothing and is wearing more make-up. It was an option to edit my otherartist and make her also stand out more but Idecided to leave the artists the way they are on the picture. Although the artist to the right doesntstand out as much I wanted to make this apparent based on showing contrasts and differences between both artists. They are not identical so I do not want to make them both seem the same. My other images will also allow both artists to equally stand out or one artist to stand out more than theother to add variety. 3. Final Image -This is my final cover image I have used within my magazine. I made a finaladjustment when I added my image to my front cover. I simply flipped my imagehorizontally. By doing so my image then fitted more appropriately, including both artists full body within my cover. Based onthe layout of my magazine cover this was achange that needed to be made In order for my magazine to stand out effectively. 4. Manipulating Photographs Contents Pagefile:///mnt/temp/Pictures/new/DSCF1653.JPG I had to manipulate this image in several different ways. The backgroundwallpaper is darker in some areas as the flowers are unable to be seen, but there is also areas which are brighter. In some places the background alsohas scratches, marks and white lineswhich make the images less professional. These need to beremoved for my final contents pageimage. Therefore during manipulation Idecided to use a plain blackbackground and crop my image. 5. Manipulating Contents imageThis is the outcome of the image once Ifile:///mnt/temp/Pictures/contents%20picture.jpghad manipulated it. The change in background to just a plain black will enable it to stand out on my pink background. I used the brush tool in a variety of different sizes. This enabled my artists to stand out based on theclothing they are wearing and handgestures.I have also cropped the image for mycontents page so it focuses morecloser on my artists, and adds a varietyof shot types. Further manipulation consisted of removing red eye from the artist to the left. My image will then be used withinmy contents page. 6. Manipulating Photographs Double PageSpreadI decided to use this shot as the file:///mnt/temp/Pictures/new/DSCF1693.JPG main image for my double pagespread. Although there are severalimplications within this image. Forexample, the shadow from the mirror, red eye, change in shadows/lightening behind theartists, marks within thebackground and the wooden flooring. I used photo shop to edit my chosen image so it became more presentable for my final doublepage spread image. 7. Manipulation Double Page Spread Image During the manipulation period I used photo shop to edit the background. I cropped out several parts to add more of a focus to myartists. This makes them stand out more again. As I had already edited the background within the contents page I, decided to also do so for my double pagespread. I used the brush tool in a variety ofsizes to colour the surrounding area of background I had been left with once I hadused the crop tool.I then used the red eye removal tool, as theartist to the left seemed to have red eye. Finally I then edited the contrast andbrightness to add more colour to my artistsand made them both equally stand out. Overall I then ended up with this image. This is then the image I used for my double pagespread. 8. Manipulation Double Page Spread ImageDuring manipulation of this image Idecided to edit the colours. Ichanged the brightness of the redsto make the red less bright and thenadd more blue to the picture. I alsoedited the vibrance, contrast andbrightness. The effect of doing thisenables both my artists to stand outequally. Within some of my previouspictures one artist always stood outmore than the other. Thereforeadding this image onto my doublepage spread will enable my otherartist to stand out more, addingmore focus. 9. Manipulation Double Page Spread Image I edited this image and added a black and white layer. I then edited the brightness and contrast. I decided to do this to add a variety of different coloured images to my double page spread and make it more appealing to the readers. All my images will then stand out clearly within my magazine and it shows I have not chose one standard colour for my images. 10. Manipulation Double Page Spread Image I decided to use this picture once I had edited it based on the depth that had been added to the image. The simple effect of the artists making a triangle sign and then editing the brightness, contrast and vibrance, created more shadows to the image. The triangles then stand out and some areas of the picture look darker than others. An effect of arrangement has been added to my image. Due to the triangles being the first thing on the page, based on the spacing, it then attracts attention to my artists. This also helps my artists to stand out more and show the variety of colours in my image.
