General Brief

• 1% land and 99% sea.

•Its One Island One Resort concept.

• Maldives has more than 85 resorts, and over 500,000 visitors visiting from all over the world.

•A typical resort islands would be of 800 by 200 meters in size. Formed by sand and coral. Covered in coconut palms and bushes with its own private beach.

•A part of island also contains staff lodgings and housing for support services such as power generators, laundry, catering and sewerage plant.

TransportationAirport transfers – Depending on the distance of the resort from airport transfer is organised by Speed Boat OR Sea Plane. Each Resort owners have their individual arrangements.

Inter hotel transfers – In most cases hotel to hotel direct transfers are not possible. Clients are transferred to the airport from where the next hotel picks them up and transfers them to resort.

Language - Dhivehi is local language of Maldives. However English is commonly spoken.

Time Difference : 30 minutes behind Indian Standard time.

Clothing : Generally casual. T-shirts, light cotton clothes, Beach and swim wear.

Visa : All nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival in Maldives (Arriving by air). Entry permit is granted to visitors on arrival, FREE of COST. Indian nationals need to procure POE if passport reads ECR.

• Shopping is only available on Male Island.

• Best buys - ‘thudu kuna’ the Maldivian mat woven with local natural fibers, wooden miniature ‘dhonis’. Export of products made of turtle shell, black coral.

• Canned sea food - Vacuum packed smoked fish, tuna and chipped dried fish are available in many super markets around Male’.

Things to Do• The Resort have wide variety of activities available

to keep you busy throughout your stay. Like

aerobics, volleyball, table tennis, Spa,

Gymnasium.

• One can enjoy Water sports like Water skiing,

Parasailing, Windsurfing and Fishing, the same

can be booked at your resorts. Price ranges from

resort to resort. It starts from US$ 25 to US $ 50 p.p.

• Scuba Diving is quite popular in Maldives. Many

visit Maldives repeatedly for the sole purpose of

diving. Padi license is a must for scuba diving.

• Island Hopping tour – By boat you visit one or

more fishing villages. Price varies from resort to resort

ranging from US$ 50 to US$ 100 p.p.

KURUMBA VILLAGE RESORT (4 Star)

Location: In the very south of The North Male Atoll. Length: 500 m, width 250 m. Distance to the house reef 10 to 50 m, to the outer reef 2 km. Transfers by boat take 15 minutes.

What is the island offering: Broad, white beaches and blue clear waters, with many shady palm trees in the interior of the island. Large lagoon good for windsurfing.

Facilities: Large reception area and lobby, island shop, main restaurant, coffee-shop, 04 Restaurants: Chinese, Indian, international and Grill room, Piano-bar, traditional bar, open-air disco.

Accommodation: 190 large furnished rooms in semi detached bungalows of 3 or 4 units (partly two-storeyed), situated near to the beach, all with air-conditioning, telephone, music channel, bath/shower, w.c., hairdryer, mini bar, balcony or terrace.

Sports & Leisure: Two freshwater swimming pools with sun terrace, deck chairs and sun shades, fitness centre with whirlpool, tennis, volleyball, table tennis, billiard. Live-music or disco. A well run Dive Base and Surf Station are also available on Kurumba.

The island is a jewel among the tourist resorts, a paradise for guests who appreciate comfort.

Location : In the North of the South Male Atoll. Length 450 m,

width 150m. Distance to the house reef 300 m, to the outer reef 450 m.

Transfer time by boat from the airport to the island 45 minutes.
