I have placed the mast head at the top of the page, as this is where it is traditionally placed. I have made my title wonky as I think it looks more eye-catching and unusual.

By placing the college logo at the top of the page next to the slogan, people will recognise the theme of my magazine.

Mid shot photograph of a student at the college, Stu Holden. Having such a large photograph attracts peoples attention. I cut the photograph out using the magic lasso tool on Photoshop and placed it onto background of my choice. I decided to use a plain grey/blue coloured background the writing and picture stand out well.

I decided to use a simple bullet point method, to keep the page simple and uncluttered. I decided to use the * key as my bullet point as I think it is more interesting than the standard dot bullet point.

By using this ellipsis readers will be hooked and feel a stronger urge to look inside my magazine.

On my contents page I have stuck to the same colour scheme. I also kept the the same slogan at the top of the page.

I also included the picture of the college logo, continuing the theme from my title page.

As the contents focuses more on the text, I decided to increase the size of my font, this will make each bullet point easier to read.

Using explanation marks its build excitement and tries to encourage the reader to open the magazine and read the articles.

Evaluation of skills used.

This was my first time using Photoshop, so I have learned lots of new skills and techniques:

Magnetic lasso tool – this can be used to cut out and crop photos. I used this tool to cut out the midshot photograph on my front cover.

Horizontal type tool – I used this tool to add all my text to my contents and front cover.

Move tool – I used this tool to move all my and text, photographs and bullet points. I also used it to create the wonky affect on my title.

Paint Bucket tool – I used this tool to fill in the background of my contents and cover.

Colour Picker Tool – This tool allows you to choose or create any colour, I used this tool to create the colour of my contents and cover pages.

The Brush tool – I used this to edit and paint over some pieces of my photograph on my front cover.
