Analyzed the Bridgewater, MA “Central Business District” to determine if an area could be further developed, or redeveloped to encourage smart growth and
housing production. Chapter 40R provides financial incentives to communities to adopt new zoning districts. Investing in the Central Business District
would not only encourage smart growth, but could also increase the town revenue and parcel building value.
Bridgewater State University, GIS I Project Fall 2015
Determined land use changes, in acres as well as percentages, in the town of Bellingham, MA. Land use was aggregated into 8 categories of classification
based off of the 21 land use codes created by the Resource Mapping Project at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Land use can be compared, via
classification to determine changes from 1971 to 1999.
