From the Pro ShopWell summer is finally here and all of us at MCC are excited. We have a lot of upcoming events planned that will involve most

age groups of our membership. Over the next two months we have four big events planned and we hope that everyone will be ableto come out and play. Our first event will be Thursday, July 4th. In the morning will be our parent/child tournament and in the after-noon will be the four man superball. Our Jr. League is underway and is open to all Jr. golfers ages 10-18. There are 4 matches re-maining on our schedule: July 8th @ Brook Valley CC, July 9th @Ironwood CC, July 22nd @ Ayden CC and July 29th @ Farm-ville CC. All matches begin at 9:00 am and are only 9 holes with lunch following.

We will also be holding a Jr Golf Camp on July 22-25. The camp will run from 9:00 am - 12:00pm each day. Lunch will be pro-vided. The camp is open to all Jrs ages 10-18. Please call and sign up for these events at least 2 days prior to the start dates.

On July 13th we are having a 4 Man Blind Draw tournament. This is a 18 hole, best 2 ball gross format. Players will be groupedinto A,B,C,D categories based on their handicap and randomly drawn to make teams. The cost is $50.00 per player and includescart fee, drinks on course, prizes, and prime rib dinner after play. The teams will be drawn at 8:30 am, Calcutta following at 9:00 amand shotgun start at 10:00 am. Please call the golf shop to sign up by July 11th at 12:00pm. Dont forget about the extra prize

Our annual Jack and Jill Invitational is scheduled for August 10th -11th. This is a 2 Person Superball format and the cost is$150.00 per team and includes cart fees, drinks on course, prizes, and dinner each day. Shotgun start on Saturday at 1:00 pm andshotgun start at 10:00 am on Sunday. This event is open to all members and guests. Both rounds will be superballs with teamsflighted after the first round. So, find a partner and join the fun!

Finally I would like to remind you of The Eric Norville Benefit golf tournament on August 7th and 8th. Eric has been diagnosedwith brain cancer and is currently undergoing treatments and this will continue for fifty-five weeks . Through his teammates, thisevent was organized for him and his family. We are asking for team sponsors, hole sponsors and prize donations from anyone per-sonal or in corporate. ALL monies will go to the Norville family for their expenses. This is a very important event to me because ofmy relationship with Eric and his family. I grew up playing baseball with Scott and I've known Eric his whole life. Eric is an out-standing young man and I know that he will beat this disease and I just ask that everyone please keep Eric and his family in yourprayers. Please come out and support this event!! From the Greens SuperintendentHello to All,

Dr. Leon T. Lucas, CGA Agronomist visited Maccripine and evaluated the course. The primary problems are related to winter dam-age. The weather was not extremely cold last winter, but periods of warm then cold, could have caused the damage on greens#1,#3,#5 and #8. He noticed a few diseases and made recommendations. The Bermudagrass in the fairways also did not grow wellthis spring because of cool weather , it is growing in now. A copy of the report is in the Pro Shop and Office. Our next project willbe topdressing the course.

THANK THE GOOD LORD FOR SPARING ALVIS! (A tree fell on him and the tractor while working at MCC.)

We hope that everyone is really enjoying the pooland its new look! If there is anything that I cando for you, please don't hesitate to ask!

Lunch at 11:00 til 2:00cost $5.00 at clubhouse

Games at 2:00 til 4:00

Dinner at 6:00 at clubhouse $10.00

Regular Pool hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Sat-urday from 10am-6pm, and Wednesdays and Fridays are from10am-9pm. If you would like to rent the pool during poolhours or after hours, we can accommodate that aswell. Please see Ms. Joyce to reserve a particular day ornight! Pool hours will change the week after Labor Day. Forprivate pool hours please call Kendall at 919-946-5888

Pool members and guests are REQUIRED to be dry andclothed when entering the Pro Shop or Clubhouse. There willbe no exceptions and anyone not dry or not clothed will notbe allowed to enter the Clubhouse or Pro Shop.

Also, please help me to keep food and drinks in the trash canand not around the pool area. It doesn't take ants long to findfood/drink on the ground and nobody likes ants! Thank you

for helping us keep Maccripine as clean as possible!
