We met first at the MAT Science Center, where Professor O’Connor had us begin friending each other.

She showed us how to control the camera. I took a birds eye view shot of our meeting. I felt like I was hanging from the chandelier!

She also shared that someone had made her Victorian dress for her! We then broke out into our 5 different team huddles…

Blake, Jaimie and I went outside to discuss our respective learner environments. Blake was having difficulties with her avatar or headset, and we were not able to chat with her. Hopefully she could hear us…

ConclusionsJaimie shared that her planned learner environment would possibly be a virtual classroom, where she could hold classes for her students, and potentially have parent/teacher conferences. She would be able to share papers and grade with the parents in this virtual environment. A very interesting concept.

I shared the potential difficulties she might have with getting parents without the technical knowhow to meet her in this environment.

As Jaimie’s learner environment concentrates on a single space, the classroom, we determined that my environment, the hospital setting, is the opposite. I have many different virtual environment areas that could be used for training all the different medical specialties.

Jaimie made the suggestion of I finding a hospital environment already created in SL, and I’m already starting to look in that direction.
