Bi-Level/Bi-Phasic Ventilation

Bi-level:

– is similar to pressure controlled ventilation ,

during which unrestricted spontaneous breathing

is possible in each phase of the respiratory

cycle.

APRV:

– allows spontaneous breathing on a preset CPAP

level and which is interrupted by a short (<1s)

release for expiration.
