– X was an underworld figure and an associate of Dawood Ibrahim. He used to wait on tables in gambling dens where he started serving liquor as a teenager. He became a big-time bootlegger and eventually monopolized the illegal liquor business.

– The Registry's order granting the GI tag was, earlier, challenged by R S Praveen Raj, a scientist with CSIR-NIIST. The registry issued the verdict, upholding TTD's claim and fined Praveen Raj Rs 10,000.
