The client is India's largest private sector enterprise with businesses in the

energy and materials value chain. Their flagship company is the largest

private sector company in India. The client's Group activities span

exploration and production of oil and gas, petroleum refining and

marketing, petrochemicals, textiles, retail, broadband and special

economic zones.

The client enjoys global leadership in many of its businesses, being the

largest polyester yarn and fibre producer in the world and among the top

ten producers in the world in major petrochemical products.

Client Requirements

The client wanted to make printing more

manageable, reduce print cost, and achieve

environmental benefits in the process. Even

the most simple supply orders like printing

related spares or consumables orders,

repairs or installations required dealing with

numerous vendors and service personnel.

The client had high volume usage of their

printing facilities. Challenges faced by the

customer included low printing quality, high

printing cost, downtime of printers, low

productivity and less secure printing in their

office.

As part of pre-sales implementation, HCL

conducted an on-site assessment and audit

of printing environment at client's office.

Usage statistics of the distributed

infrastructure were gathered. This

provided insights into the overall spares,

services and consumables requirements.

Post the analysis, the total output and

document workflow plan was created for

designing and adapting the new managed

environment seamlessly with HCL MPS.

The implementation was carried out in a

phased manner. The first phase catered to a

huge volume of 100 million prints per

annum .The existing equipments were

replaced with Toshiba MFDs integrated

with Print Managed Software (Y Soft).

Deployment of HCL MPS reduced the total

Solutions Offered

HCL offered its Managed Print Service (MPS)

as a solution to the printing need of the

customer. The solution included deployment

of 150 Toshiba A3 Multi Functional Devices

(MFDs) along with Y-Soft Software. HCL was

able to introduce some new features into the

client's system such as -

Deployed multiple machines per print

server

Generation of printing reports - MFD

wise / user wise / group wise

User authentication for secured printing

Setting work group wise Quotas/Credits,

Easy Credit Enhancement & Integration
