In my paper I will tell you about Armstrong's history, how he became a hero, and why I chose him as my hero. Louis Armstrong's history helped him to become an awesome musician. He was born on August 4th, 1901, in Storyville, New Orleans, LA. He grew up without a mom or dad. He lived on the streets and sang for money. Louis Armstrong helped show people of color that they can do anything they put their mind to. He was one of the best jazz players. In 1918 he joined a kid jazz band. In 1922 he joined the Creole Jazz Band. He made his first record in 1923. Louis Armstrong helped inspire other musicians with his amazing trumpet skills and good singing.
