April 8, 2016 It is with gratitude and affection for Chase Zhang that I share with you my recommendation for his career pursuit within your organization. Chase has been with the University of Miami since 2009 and he made an immediate impact since he arrived on campus. Chase and I have had the opportunity to lead is remarkable in our skill and brilliance. The trustees have our deepest gratitude for their courage in letting us take the University on a journey of excellence that was promising, but risky. It is so easy to stand still. Pursuing greatness is not for the meek or cautious. Chase is as gifted as any I have worked with. His passion for business, collegiate sports, great leadership, and patient care is extraordinary. He is committed, skilled, loyal, and take great pride in his work. It was no secret that Chase worked in the South Beach entertainment, nightlife organizations. Chase’s ability to combine and control both worlds were invaluable, but it was his understanding of our University’s standards, N.C.A.A rules and regulations, as well as our own University’s Code of Student Conduct rules, that made him a vital key to our University’s success on and off the field. The alumni, supporters, and donors have all commended him on his management skills of his professional career and our student athlete’s social excursions. One of his best attributes is his knowledge of potential N.C.A.A rules violations and his ability to provide a solution before any infractions occur. His drive and expertise…have energized the entire N.C.A.A Compliance Office at our University and gives us hope for our university and our future since the our battle with the N.C.A.A for the past 5 years. I am personally delighted to have Chase work for our University during my tenure as president. Chase will always pursue excellence with a razor-sharp focus that only great organizations truly appreciate. I truly believe he will be a great vital additional to your team and organization. Sincerely Yours, Donna Shalala Former President of the University of Miami
