NYONGKOLAN(Traditional Wedding)

Nyongkolan is a traditional wedding ceremony from Lombok. In the procession of nyongkolan,the bride and groom visit the families of women accompanied by Family, friends and all people who want to celebrate the wedding procession. The bride and groom using the traditional dress accompanied by Gendang Beleq.

BAU NYALE

• Bau nyale is the Event from Lombok and it always celebrate in every years in some beach at Lombok like Kuta Beach and Seger Beach.

Every years sasak people will come together to catch the nyale (seaworms) at the beach.

From Sasak legend, nyale is incarnation from Princess Mandalika.

PERESEANPERESEANPeresean is one of the traditional

arts fight between two fighters .The fighters used Rotan and shield

to play peresean.Peresean has been done by Sasak

tribe in Lombok island since hundreds years ago.

• At first Peresean was customary ritual that usually held when dry season comes to summon rain.But along with the times today Peresean also performed at celebration of other activities in order to attract the attention of people to attend.

The rules of game also do not make the fighters confused,and do not hit the lower abdomen.

OGOH-OGOH FESTIVALOgoh-ogoh festival usually held in every year exactly on the day before Nyepi at some villages in Mataram. The procession usually starts from Cakranegara which is the business center of Mataram.

Thousands of people will watch this festival along the main streets of the city.

MALEAN SAPIMale'an Sampi Festival of Lombok

is a festival of cow race. The race begins in the arena. The main arena comprises of a 100 meter long race track.

The winner and the good performers in the race get star ratings and are put up for sale by the owners as they are considered to be a good investment.
