Function of DeKa-TitanFunction of DeKa-Titan

Pain is transmitted by an electrical Signal, which is called Action Potential.

This signal is sent by Axon to brain in order to transform or translate the pain

level.

Basic information on pain transmission (I)



Excitable cells, noziceptors possess a rest potential.

The interior of an excitable cell in the rest state is at a negative potential

between -60 to -100 mV to the external surface of the Axon tissue. This is

caused by the different distribution of the ions in the two spaces.

A stimulus causes an exceeded threshold potential. Induced by a by a briefly

(< 1 ms) opening of the membrane channals for the small sodium ions. The

membrane potential suddenly reduces, the nerve interior even becomes

temporarily positive.

The nerve fibre is excitable at the earleast after 2 ms. So the pain stimulus is

transmitted by potential waves.

The maximum frequency action potentials can be triggered and conducted

over the nerve fibres is 500 1/s.

The calculated maximum possible frequency at which action potentials can

be triggered of 500 1/s does not comply with realistic in vivo-systems.

Explanation

In addition to the upstream pain-initiating system, a downstream pain-

inhibiting system exists, whose fibres originate from various levels of the

central nervous system and which regulates the flow of noziceptive stimuli.

As the upstream pulse current is controlled by the pain-inhibiting system –

like passing through a gate, this is also referred to as the gate control theory.

Endorphines and enkephalines have been identified as physiological activators

of the pain-inhibiting system.



Gate control theory

Pharmaceutical products use the downstream pain-inhibiting system of the

Gate Control Theory (Endorphines and enkephalines as physiological

activators).

The pulsating DC voltage from this system can be measured in the peripheral

nerve lines externally, i.e. through the skin and tissue.

DeKa-Titan ® - Pain Reliever uses the upstream pain-initiating system.

Like a RC element in an electrical circuit, a special capacitor circuit of DeKa-

Titan ® - Pain Reliever placed on the skin makes it possible to smoothen the

potential differences leading to an attenuation of the signal current of pain to

the brain by nerves.

Thus a reduced level or no pain at all are reported to the brain.

Report on my Experience with the DE-KA-Titanium Bracelet

I am happy to report on my positive experience with the DE-KA-titanium bracelet. After the birth of my 2nd son in 1987, I started suffering from migraines. The attacks wereinitially hormone-induced and cycle-dependent. The hormonal therapies available at the time were, however, successful only in the beginning, as the syndrome became independent and was no longer cycle-dependent. Accordingly, starting menopause did not bring any advantages for me, and the strong headaches teamed up with an ever increasing nausea.

My husband is an established gynaecologist in a big practice, I myself am a member of a private medical aid insurance, which is certainly a favourable opportunity to make all therapeutic possibilities accessible to me.

Everything imaginable had been tried, including all and any orthodox-medicine therapiesof a medicine-based nature, relaxation exercises and psychotherapy. Alternative medicine, naturopathy, acupuncture and homeopathy were, of course, given a go too. None of the methods was successful. It must be said that the continuous intake of anti-depressants and whenever necessary, the additional dose of strong pain killers brought about a certain partial success. I, however, had to discontinue this treatment, as my personal effectiveness in my manifold tasks was no longer given: I felt as if I had been wrapped in cotton wool and my natural mental alertness was totally suppressed.

In February 2008, I was introduced to the so-called “pain bracelet”, i.e. DE-KA-Titan. At first I was taken aback by the success and of course I was very happy. Apart from the truly gained quality of life, I thought it was wonderful that I did not suffer any interference or reduction whatsoever in my effectiveness.

My success prompted my husband to introduce the titanium bracelet to his patients now.
