It is hard to believe that the first trimester is complete. Parent/

Teacher Conferences were very well attended, PALS, Forward results (see

page 2) and Benchmark Assessments are complete, PBIS celebrations, Stu-

dent Council Movie Night was a huge success and several PTO events took

place, and so much more! I cannot believe the wonderful learning experi-

ences that have already taken place and look forward to so many more.

Before you know it our Winter Concerts/Celebrations will take place and

maybe we will even have a little snow on the ground.

With the arrival of winter also brings the potential for inclement

weather. The decision to delay or close school is made prior to 6:00 a.m.,

based on district policy and procedure and the best available weather in-

formation. The district will use Apptegy and post information on several

TV stations (WKOW TV 27, WMTV TV 15 and WISC TV 3) in efforts to

keep every CAMBRIDGE RESIDENT informed. Please try to have a plan in

place to handle late starts, early dismissals and school cancelations. It is

helpful if your child is aware of the plan. Thank you in advance for these

efforts! Also, please be sure your youngster is appropriately dressed for

the colder weather. Labeling all the clothing (hats, gloves, scarves, etc.) is

also encouraged. Should your family be in need of winter gear please do

contact the office for assistance.

By the time you receive this newsletter, we will have completed the

1st trimester. That means report cards will be in your hands very soon! As

mentioned in previous newsletters, the report card will have a much differ-

ent look. As always, if there are any questions or concerns please feel

free to contact us here at school!

We look forward to seeing you at the 2nd/3rd Grade Winter Con-

cert on December 12th at 6:00 (G2) and 7:00 (G3)! Let’s have a great

pillar of building to our drop off sign). Adults should remain in their vehicle as the circle is for

drop off only.

If parking in our parking lot and walking your child to the building suits you best, please follow

the yellow arrows in the parking lot to guide you as you park. Please use caution while walking

through the parking lot.

Please do not go around the speed bumps as it is unsafe and we want to avoid any accidents.

Also, please avoid cell phone use while driving. We need your full attention in efforts to keep

our students safe!

Cold weather is here! As a gentle reminder, shorts weather is done un-til Spring. Please note that if you send a coat with your child we would expect the child to wear it outside. Also, at 32°F and below we will ex-pect all of our students to wear coats during recess. When the snow flies, any student wanting to play in the snow should wear boots, snow pants, coat, gloves, and hat. Without “snow gear” students will play on the blacktop. Thanks for your support with the cold and snow.

Reminder about Coats and Cold Weather

Our Art Club is going to create a beautiful recycled project at CES and we need

your help! We are in search of CLEAR PLASTIC BOTTLES. Please put this request in

your newsletters and send them (rinsed, clean, and labels off) to the CES Art Room

December PE News

November was a very busy month with lots of different activities going on in the gym. December isn’t any

different. We finished up our dance unit at the beginning of December, just in time for the 3rd graders to see The

Nutcracker. We moved into paddle work for grades K-2 and badminton and pickleball for grades 3-5. This is

always a fun unit for the students because it is different equipment that most don’t use outside of school on a

regular basis. We will end December with some winter fun before we leave for the winter break. Hope you have a

fantastic holidays and enjoy the pictures from some of our November activities below.

♪ 4th & 5th Grade Recorders ♪

Both 4th and 5th grade classes are now using recorders in music class. If you do not yet have a

recorder, they can be purchased from the music room for $5.50.

♪ Singing at Home ♪ A great way to support musical development is to sing together at home! Please take time to

ask your child about what songs we are singing in music class. Many students would enjoy

performing for you! Another great option this time of year is to pick your favorite holiday or

winter songs, and sing them together. Don’t worry about singing perfectly – enjoy the time

IMC NEW –DECEMBER

We had a great November in the library. We started it out by showing the book fair

video. Thanks to Nadine Breunig and the PTO we now have a nice collection of new books that

were at the book fair. We have most of them processed and ready for check-out.

The second week of November we focused on our Veterans. We read stories and a

“Thank a Veteran” center was set up. Over 60 children wrote thank you notes and drew

pictures for our area veterans. These were sent to the VA hospital in Madison and the VA home

in Union Grove. We received a nice thank you note for the children’s efforts.

The third week was “Give Thanks for Books”. Each classroom teacher was given the

opportunity to choose a new book to add to their classroom libraries. We also held an open

house after school for staff to preview the new books we were adding to our collection. After

the open house, the new books were available for student check-out.

It’s hard to believe we’re into December and the emphasis has changed to winter and

holiday themes. Books are being checked out at a fast rate. Remember that books are a good

choice for gift giving of any occasion. We wish you all some wonderful reading times as

families!
