Reading Timeline

You are responsible for reading a certain percentage of your book before each Book Club Meeting. This will insure that everyone keeps up with the reading and can participate in the discussion.

*It is okay to read ahead, but keep in mind that the book club discussions and response questions will be based upon the timeline.*

The chart below shows how much of your book should be read by each meeting. Use the percentages to identify how many pages you need to read in your own novel. Book Club Meeting Percentage of the

Book Page for

Your Book Friday February 5 25%

Friday February 12 50% Friday February 26 75%

Friday March 4 100%

Remember: Keep track of the calendar. There are plenty of reading days in class; however, if you do not finish reading in class, it is your responsibility to finish reading at home (even if you are absent). If you are absent… Reading Day: It is YOUR responsibility to read on your own. Follow the reading timeline. Book Club Meeting: Complete your leadership role sheet. You will turn in your discussion sheet, vocabulary and summary the day you return from your absence. Post-Discussion Journaling: In the event of an absence on the day of a meeting, complete the post-discussion journaling based on the required reading and turn in upon your return.
