1.  Open up Premier Pro

2.  Create a new folder on your server called ‘Music Video Tutorial’

3.  Copy the ‘Music Video Clips’ from the Hard Drive or Server and save to your folder ‘Music Video Tutorial’.

4. Import all video clips & music to Premier Pro

Select File / Import

(The files or folder will appear in Project window)

5. Select File / Save As to save the Premier Pro project to your folder on the server.

(Name your project ‘Lip Sync tutorial’)

6. Drag the ‘Queen music cut.aiff’ clip to the audio timeline (A1)

A box may appear asking you to set to the sequence to ‘Clip settings’.

7. Drag down the audio down so you can see the audio waves.

8. Click on ‘Queen music cut.aiff’ in the timeline so it is selected.

Play the clip and listen for the first beat in the music.

9. Add the marker pressing (M) on the keyboard.

(To undo a marker double click on the marker and go to Marker in the top menu ‘clear markers’)

10 .Click M mute the track and then Lock the ‘Queen music cut.aiff’.

11. Drag the ‘Front .mov’ video clip to the timeline above the audio.

12. Click on the ‘Front.mov’ video clip so it is selected.

Listen for the first beat in the video audio and then add the marker using (M) when you hear it.

To undo a marker double click it and go to marker ‘clear markers’

13. Now drag and move the video clip to match both the markers in the audio ‘Front.mov’ and ‘Queen music cut.aiff’ on the timeline.

14. Unlock the ‘Queen Music Cut’ audio file and click M to un-mute the audio.

15. Now press space bar to play to check if it is in sync with the video.

If it sounds like there is an echo then you may need to move the clips slightly back or forward until the lips are in synch with the audio.

16. Lock the ‘Front’ video clip

17. Delete the audio from the video ‘Front’ video clip

18. Press Space Bar to play and check it is in sync!

Extension Task a) Add the ‘Side’ video to both the audio and video tracks

b) Mute the audio from both the ‘Front.mov and Queen music cut.aiff’

Extension Task c) Listen to the first beat in the ‘Side.mov’ video adding a marker to the first beat and then move the clip so all the markers line up.

Extension Task d) Once you have synced all your clips, you can then delete the sound from the ‘Side.mov’ (Remember to lock the video).

Extension Tasks e) Finally make cuts to the ‘Side’ video to the beat of the music. f) Alternate deleting the top video clips to show the different video angles
