Dear City of Praise Family,

God is about to do exceedingly and abundantly above in your life. Get ready for it, and raise your faith level to receive it. You may be going through right now, but be encouraged. At the end of every trial is a pre-ordained breakthrough. And it’s not until you get that testimony of what God has brought you through that you really come to know who He is and how much He really loves you. The Bible says that Jesus went into the wilderness full of the Holy Ghost, but He came out of the wilderness full of the power of the Holy Ghost. Perseverance is critical. Don’t you dare give up! Know that God will either deliver you out of it or He will strengthen you in it, but either way, if you trust Him, you are coming out of it with power and faith, and one step closer to the magnificent plan that He has prepared for you. “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” (Romans 8:18)

God bless you,

Bishop Joel and Pastor Ylawnda Peebles

Living HealthyNew York Times

best-selling author, Dr. Don Colbert, teaches on alternative solutions for living free from cancer. In reading the following excerpt from his book, “The New Bible Cure for Cancer”, you will understand that

although healing ultimately comes from God, there are certain responsibilities that we must take in order to lead healthy and robust lives.

“Eleanor Roosevelt said, ‘I gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which I must stop and look fear in the face.’ This is exactly what we need to do with the face of cancer. While cancer has been a Goliath of a killer in recent decades, it is on the decline because more and more people are learning that it is beatable and are changing their habits accordingly. God’s wisdom on how we should live and what we should eat is at the foundation of

all who are preventing and beating cancer today through better nutrition, wholesome living, and overcoming faith. Understanding this wisdom is more important today than ever.

In addition to the powerful breakthroughs experienced in the medical arena, miracles by the healing touch of God happen every day. Instantaneous miracles are performed in a moment by the power of the Holy Spirit. I have seen many people whose triumph over cancer, even in its advanced stages, can only described as miraculous. And I know other medical doctors who would agree that they too have witnessed such dramatic occurrences. However, generally God won’t do what you can do. You must change your diet and lifestyle to prevent cancer.

I have also witnessed numerous other healings that took place over a longer period of time. These patients pray, trust God’s Word, and use natural therapies that include a healthy diet, good nutrition, supplements, detoxification measures, and lifestyle changes. This approach provides an arsenal of weapons to battle the many factors that cause cancer.”

3Lion’s Roar

Has anyone ever told you that God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life? I have a

real quick but important question to ask you. If you were to die this very second, do you know for sure, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that you would go to Heaven? [If they answer “Yes”, you say, “Great! Why would you say ‘Yes’? If they respond with anything but “I have Jesus in my heart” or something similar to that PROCEED WITH SCRIPT. If they answer “NO” or “I hope so” PROCEED WITH SCRIPT.]

Let me quickly share with you what the Holy Bible says. It says “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” and “for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”. The Bible also says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”. And you’re a “whosoever”, right? Of course you are; all of us are.

I’m going to say a quick prayer for you. Lord, bless (FILL IN NAME) and his/her family with long and healthy lives. Jesus, make Yourself real to him/her and do a quick work in his/her heart. If (FILL IN

NAME) has not received Jesus Christ as his/her Lord and Savior, I pray he/she will do so now.

(FILL IN NAME), if you would like to receive the gift that God has for you today, say this after me.

“I confess with my mouth that Jesus is the Lord. Forgive me of my sin. Wash and cleanse me. Set me free. Lord Jesus, Thank You that you died for me. I believe that God raised you from the dead and that You’re coming back again for me. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Give me a passion for the lost, a hunger for the things of God and a holy boldness to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. I’m saved. I’m born again. I’m forgiven and on my way Heaven because I have The Lord Jesus in my heart.”

As a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I tell you today that all your sins are forgiven. Always remember to run to God and not from God because He loves you and has great plan for your life.

[Invite them to your church and get follow up info; name, address and phone number.]

We shall lead 500 people to the Lord in a single night…500 souls saved for eternity.

You are invited to join us in this endeavor. There will be training for the entire congregation to learn how to evangelize/witness. We will provide information to distribute to “trick or treaters”, leading them to salvation and inviting them to church. Teams will be on the streets that night, or you can work from home, and those who are saved will be able to text “safe” to the 71441

number so that we can keep a tally of those who confessed Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Our congregational goal is to lead one million souls to Christ. We will begin to keep a record of our progress by gathering weekly statistics from those who are working towards leading people to the Lord. There will be a counter on our website (www.cityofpraisechurch.com) so that everyone can see our progress towards 1 million people saved.

4 Lion’s Roar

The purpose of this class was to enlighten the body of Christ on how prophetic gifting should

operate. Of course we couldn’t cover everything but I believe that all of the students received something significant from the class. I was blessed to see the response and cooperation of the attendees.

We talked about the many aspects of the prophetic and how the prophetic is an important part of God’s arsenal. There is a difference between the office of the prophet and prophetic people. To say that someone is prophetic does not necessarily mean that they are a

prophet. All prophets are prophetic people but not all prophetic people are prophets. We talked about prophetic protocol and the importance of it.

We talked about the Glory of God which is God’s manifested presence. As we began to discuss the Glory of God, the Glory showed up in the room in a tangible way. People were healed and delivered, backs were healed, emotions were healed and much more. They were totally blessed by God’s presence and the activation of the prophetic.

The class was taught that worship, prayer and relationship is what causes God’s presence to show up. We talked a lot about relationship with God and the Holy Spirit. We touched on holiness as a lifestyle because holiness is important if we want to recognize God and His actions. The scripture says that without holiness we can’t see Him. (Hebrews 12:14). We have to make the decision to live holy and then make it a lifestyle.

Holiness is telling the flesh no and following the Spirit. Holiness is doing what is right because it is right even though your flesh wants to do something else. It’s not only connected to your desire to do right, but holiness is connected to your love for your Father God. When you love someone, you try to please them. Holiness is connected to how pure your ministry will be. When your ministry is pure, it will also be powerful.

Everyone in the class was activated to prophesy, which was a great experience for them because I found out afterwards that most of them had never given anyone a Word from God. God blessed them to be able to experience His presence and His gifts.

Jesus died so that we could be free—free from sin , sickness and death. When God gives His gifts to us He gives them freely. I Corinthians 12:1–11 talks about the spiritual gifts. The spiritual gifts are given to bless us, and they are set in the body to let everyone know, saved and unsaved, that Jesus is real. The ministry gifts are given to bless, protect, build up and mature the body of Christ. (Eph. 4:11–15 AMP). God’s Word is true and we should take it as truth.

There is so much more for us to learn about our Lord and Savior, so let us strive to learn more and to be more like Him. I challenge you to read the scriptures, put them in your heart and allow God’s Word to penetrate your being. Let your life be all about Jesus and all of Jesus will manifest in you.

My prayer was that every one left the class with a deeper relationship with Father God, and I truly believe that that was accomplished by the presence of God and the testimonies of change.

God Bless you all

Love and Peace

Understanding

the Prophetic

5Lion’s Roar

By: Minister Johnny & Deacon Paula Dickens

T he purpose of this class was to encourage the Kings and Queens of the Most High God to

stay thirsty — to thirst after the things of God, which would allow your spiritual man to grow, such as reading the Word of God, listening to the Word of God, watching the Word of God, and meditating on the Word of God.

Once you have accepted Christ in your life, by confessing Romans 10:9&10, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”, it is at this time that your spirit man becomes alive.

Growing up Spiritually is for everyone, because we all need to grow daily. As a newborn babe, you begin with milk. However, as you mature in the Word

of God, you start to hunger for the meat of the Word. The length of time that you have been in the Church doesn’t determine whether you are a babe or not. For example, you may have been in the Church for 20, 30 or more years. If you are still murmuring & complaining, you are still a babe in Christ.

Consequently, once we have accepted Jesus into our hearts, there is an enemy that comes against us. As a child of God, we have to know scriptures to fight the good fight of faith. Some examples of scriptures are:

• “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the Word of their testimony.” (Revelation 12:11)

• “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)

• “Now thanks be unto God, which always causes us to triumph in Christ.” (2 Cor. 2:14)

Remember to stand on the Word of God, and not to waiver. Don’t confess one thing and secretly believe just the opposite.

Praying in the Spirit is a powerful tool that God has given to His people. When we don’t know what to pray for, The Holy Spirit makes intercession on our behalf according to Romans 8:26 – 27. We shared with the class that people don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care. Finally, we admonished the class that it is by your love that they will know you.

Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the Word, that ye may grow thereby.

(1st Peter 2:1&2)

Growing Up Spiritually

Then this city will bring me renown, joy, praise

and honor before all nations on earth that hear of all the good things I do for it; and they will be in awe

and will tremble at the abundant prosperity and

peace I provide for it.
