Every December, LEGOLAND Discovery Center celebrates the holidays by putting up the lights, and more importantly making our Mini-land especially cheerful.

There were Gingerbread Houses that had to be made, but I took a different spin and made a Gingerbread Lighthouse

However, what gets more excitement from children (and some adults) is the presence of at least one train going round and round. Although we couldn’t make the train go around the Mini-land, having the Polar Express was nice.

When LEGOLAND Discovery Center first opened, the head manager, requested register covers so that when customers arrived they were not greeted with the backside of a register. However the patterns that were chosen was to be a random assortment of brick.

Fast Forward to nearly 2 years after our first opening, those same register covers were becoming unappealing to look at and were falling apart.

So I took on the request for new register covers and made replacements, each with their own message on it and color pattern.

LEGOLAND Discovery Center, has realized that Adults also have a passion for Lego. On the first Thursday of every month, we have an AFOL (Adult Fan of Lego) Night. A time when we have an event about something adults really know about.

One of those nights was Doctor Who themed, and as a Whovian, it was my duty to create models for mini-land, create ideas for games, and have a showing of the original Doctor Who first episode from 1963.

As stated before, we have many themed AFOL nights, such as:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, when I made Michelangelo's Nun-chucks as a trophy

Halloween Horror, when I made Frankenstein’s Head and a Witch’s cauldron as trophies

Comic Book Night, when I made the Daily Bugle from Spider Man and Stark Industries logo from Iron Man
