Awards for co-founding the National Cockatiel Society, and as founding president of 10 years for Boston Cockatiel Society, Inc. She continues as President of the Cockatiel Foundation, Inc., which she founded in 2007, and additionally serves as webmaster, and answers questions on color mutations as the Foundation’s Genetics Consultant.

Linda has bred and exhibited champion ABS budgerigars, NCS cockatiels, and SPBE parrots, and is a Certified Panel Judge for the Cockatiel Foundation and the Society of Parrot Breeders & Exhibitors - judging cockatiel and parrot shows since 1984 throughout the USA, Puerto Rico, and in Canada. She had the honor of judging three National Cage Bird Shows and the Canadian National Cage Bird Show, and is the author of the original “NCS Show Standard of Excellence,” and the “CF Show Standard for the Ideal Cockatiel.” Linda qualified as an SPBE Panel Judge in 1985, and presided at the SPBE show held at the 2011 AFA national convention in San Francisco (the first in 25 years), and will judge the SPBE show at the 2012 AFA national convention in San Antonio.

An avid enthusiast in the study of color mutations, Linda is widely recognized as a leading authority in the United States on cockatiel mutation genetics, and is the facilitator of the first Cockatiel Genetics WorkshopsTM in the USA. She has presented on cockatiels and parrots at more than a dozen AFA national conventions, Canadian conferences, the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, and other private meetings since 1977.  One of her most memorable invitations was as keynote speaker at the First International Cockatiel Symposium hosted by the Australian National Cockatiel Society, and the Native Cockatiel Society of Australia, in Brisbane and Sydney, and as overseas speaker at the Avicultural Society of Australia in Melbourne. While in Queensland, Linda had the opportunity to travel into the Outback of St. George to follow parrots and cockatiels and observe their natural behaviors in the wild, which provided insight into their reactions in captivity - and on the show bench.
