relaxed environment. It doesn’t smell like a dentist’s whatsoever, and the color schemes there, and the lights, it’s all just very relaxing, very fresh and very modern. As I said, the team are very nice, they make you feel very welcome.

We’ve got Jade, who’s your hygienist/therapist – she’s a lovely, lovely lady and she takes great care of the patients, and I can imagine, from how well I’ve got on with her, and the couple of times I’ve met her, how well she gets on with the patients. I’m sure she makes your hygiene appointments like nothing you’ve ever known before.

And then you’ve got Nadim, Dr. Nadim Majid. Nadim is an absolutely wonderful man. The way he is, and the way he comes across, is that he’s very calm, and he’s very relaxing, and he does make you feel very comfortable when you’re around him. Lifestyle Dental recently underwent a Practice appraisal. This is something which is going to be undertaken for dental practices and also for dentists themselves. The purpose of the appraisal is to make sure the dental practice is up to date with all the paper work and also is following recommended guidlines when it comes to infection control and clinical governance, etc.

The appraisal for Lifestyle Dental was undertaken by Dr. Chris May.

A new Dental Clinic In Preston Lifestyle Dental opened in September 8 months ago has been given a grade A rating by an assessor for the FGDP (faculty of general dental practitioners).

Lifestyle Dental In Preston was opened By Dr. Nadim Majid, 31 (who recently became a dad to twins one boy and one girl). Nadim is glad that we have met the requirements and achieved a very high standard. This is also due to the hard working and dedicated team, Susan Monks and Sophie Timmins, that work at Lifestyle Dental and have been responsible for putting in place systems to help smooth running of the dental practice.

The Dental practice is currently providing a number of procedures for patients including cosmetic Dentistry, Veneers, Invisible braces as well as general dentistry.

Dr. Chris May the assessor said “Lifestyle dental practice is a modern dental practice with all the required protocols in place to provide safe delivery of treatment to patients in a pleasant workspace for those employed there. In my opinion Lifestyle Dental Practice using the FGDP’s classification from standards in dentistry is a Grade A where a standard of excellence has been achieved.”

Lifestyle Dental was also the first paper free practice which Dr. May visited together with energy efficient lighting and digital X-rays and digital cameras means this makes the dental practice very friendly for the environment too. “The impact upon the environment is a ever increasing issue and businesses should do all they can” said Nadim. “We have used technology to minimize the impact we have and this has also helped the clinic to offer the best to the customers too.”

The Inman Aligner is designed to correct your crooked teeth or maligned teeth. It is barely visible, apart from a single clear wire, and it is a removable orthodontic appliance, allowing the wearer to go brace-free for important occasions. Similar to a retainer but has advantages over a retainer:

1. Can correct moderate crowding and rotation of your teeth 2. More comfortable for you to wear as the spring is made of nickel titanium rather than stainless steel 3. No retention problems - which means that if your teeth move back after a few years then you can use the same brace for a while and get them straight again.

It also has advantages over Invisalign:

How does it work?The Inman Aligner utilises a lingual coil spring that puts pressure at the back of the teeth that need repositioning and a bar that is placed across the front of the teeth reverses the same pressure. These components work together to "squeeze" teeth together by pushing and pulling them into alignment.

How long does it take?Fitting the aligner takes two half hour appointments, followed by 15-minute monthly check-ups.

Generally your teeth can be treated between 6 to 16 weeks.

Does it hurt?You may find you need to take mild painkillers for the first week or so. Like anything foreign to your mouth, it may cause you to salivate more than usual for 24 to 48 hours and could affect your speech for 7 to 10 days.

Is the Inman Aligner new?Patients have been treated with Inman Aligners since 2000. In the United States approximately 450 to 500 new patients are prescribed treatment with Inman Aligners every month.

Is the Inman Aligner comparable to Invisalign?No, the Inman Aligner is used for treating the top and bottom front teeth only. Invisalign can treat full arches (all your teeth).

Will treatment with the Inman Aligner be uncomfortable?No. Due to the gentle but steady orthodontic forces generated, the appliances are easily tolerated. Your doctor may suggest aspirin or Tylenol for the 1st few days of treatment if you encounter any discomfort.

Will the Inman Aligner affect my speech?Yes. The Inman Aligner will affect your speech for a week or two. You will however acclimate to the appliances over time and be able to speak fine with them in place.

Will I need to see the doctor frequently for adjustments?The Inman Aligners are pre-programmed to reduce the need for office visits. Your doctor will prescribe a treatment due to your needs.
